I'm not sure sure how those can be dismissed.

 

I'm in Danville, Ky. How am I supposed to know how good Moeller is and why should I be researching how good Moeller is when compiling a poll of Ky teams? What does Moeller have to do with Ky? But since Ohio teams now mean so much to Ky teams rankings where is Roger Bacon at?

What? You're ranking teams and you're saying you can't look up to see how good their opponents are?

 

If you're ranking KY teams you should rank them based on how they have performed against all teams - not just KY teams. By that logic you would never rank Trinity in football until late in the season when they start playing KY teams.

I don't think they're being dismissed, but those wins count the same as the three losses they have to the other teams in the current Top 20 they've played.

That's a ridiculous comparison. A blind man can see Trinity is the best football team in Ky. You trying to tell me that CovCath should be ranked because they beat Moeller because Moeller is #2 in Cincy? I can google all day long. Just because they are #2 in Cincy isn't going to tell me just how good Moeller is. I'd have to see Moeller first and I'm not going to Cincy to watch Moeller and Taft just to see if CovCath deserves to be ranked ahead of LexCath and Lafayette. How good is Ohio basketball as whole? If Moeller was in Ky would they be as good as Trinity? As good as CovCath? As good as Fleming County? As good as Warren Central? Moeller could be 18-1 with their lone loss to CovCath but if they come to Ky and lose to Mercer County then just how good is Moeller? Google won't tell me that.

 

 

Bullitt East went 3-1 in a Missouri tournament this last weekend. So did Ballard. Should Ballard have stayed at #1 then?

Impossible. Different dynamics for both polls. Ballard has defeated Madison Central and Madison Central is 1-1 against Bullitt East. Henry Clay beat Trinity and Henry Clay has 3 losses to ranked teams by a combined 7 points. Trinity also lost since the last rankings but moved up in the polls due to their LIT performance. Have you seen Bullitt East play? If there are more than 2 teams better than them I want to see them.

 

Way too hard. We do the best we can with what we got. Considering we have to communicate by computer and texts on each other's schedules and can't sit in the same room or restaurant at the same time to properly discuss and dissect all worthy teams I think we do pretty good.

 

I haven't seen Bullitt East play in person this year, but I agree they are probably the best team. I guess since this doesn't come out every 7 days I see your point. And, I am not disagreeing about any of the rankings necessarily. I do think Henry Clay is too high based on recent results, as they have lost their last 2 against Top 20 teams. How far too high, maybe 2 or 3 spots.

 

Truthfully, no matter what order or who you left out, there will be always be omissions. Covington Catholic might be the most glaring omission this time. I think Knott County Central is the most overrated team in the Top 20. They are 0-1 against other Top 20 teams and recently lost to Perry County Central, which lost 2 of our 3 in the recent Toyota Classic. Maybe Covington Catholic deserves their spot.

Ask me in a week. I have to wait for Roger Bacon and Moeller to play so I can accurately rank CovCath or LexCath at #19 or #20.

In fact, after looking at their resume, PP92 might have a REALLY good argument to make for Male, who's starting to show signs of something special.

Collins has played a tough schedule and has some good wins so that explains why they are still ranked IMO.

 

Collins is a good team. Their schedule is solid. Not great.
