Trusting snopes is like trusting NBC news...
Or Fox News ?

What magic do people think Snopes has? It is often wrong with details and ignores inconvenient facts rarely acknowledging them or addressing them.

It does not seem to have any real 'staff' or 'investigative reporters' (not that any MSM seems to either anymore).

When a government or police entity refers someone to Snopes for answer does that not seem odd? Why do they refer people to what is basically a nameless, faceless blog that has no known actual investigative staff?

What government or police entity refered someone to snopes?

And snopes lists all of their sources at the bottom of the article. Funny how you all question snopes but you don't question the wackos who have nothing more than bits and pieces from news videos

People don't like Snoops when Snoops "facts" blow their theories clear out of the water.LOL

They reference information from the same MSM sourced that badly botched all the reporting from Connecticut after the event and who do no investigative reporting either? Seems like a circular firing squad.

Most of the information released right after the shootings occurred was rushed. It is almost every single time something like this happens. The MSM seems more inclined to release the information first, rather than release the correct information.

With that said, things usually get straightened out after a few days. Regardless, I could take video clips from the MSM that were released hours after any major incident like this and make it look like there's a conspiracy. Bad reporting doesn't = hoax or conspiracy. Some can't seem to understand that though.

WAY too many contradictions and inconsistencies. If it was 1 or 2 maybe, but dozens. Like Judge Judy says, "If it doesn't make sense, it probably isn't true" !

I think my distrust of traditional news sources is well established. Is it just seeing 'sloppy' reporting or does the industry have a deeper problem. And it is relevent to Snopes since Snope references only 'crediable' sources (cough, cough).

Piers Morgan - CNN leading attack dog the gun control issue.

BBC NEWS | UK | Politics | Editor sacked over 'hoax' photos

"Daily Mirror editor Piers Morgan has been sacked after the newspaper conceded photos of British soldiers abusing an Iraqi were fake. In a statement the Mirror said it had fallen victim to a "calculated and malicious hoax" and that it would be "inappropriate" for Morgan to continue."

Dan Rather - long time CBS reporter and face of CBS news for many years

CBS: Bush documents can?t be verified - politics | NBC News

"CBS News apologized Monday for a “mistake in judgment” in its story questioning President Bush’s National Guard service, claiming it was misled by the source of documents that several experts have dismissed as fakes. "

CNN Iraq war Blue screening - they have been at doing the fake news for a while.

Steve Capus head of NBC news resigned last after signing a new contract just last year. The last straws seems to be malicious editing of the 'heckled' Sandy Hook 'father'.

Scandal-Plagued Steve Capus Out as NBC News President

"During his tenure, no fewer than the equivalent of five RatherGates happened; and after two, three and four of these incidents, it became glaringly apparent that Capus was the problem. "

Here is the side-by-side edit done by NBC of Mr. Heslins testimony.

MSNBC caught editing Sand Hook victims's family testimony of Neil Heslin. - YouTube

So Snopes points to MSM reporting for their source and the MSM has a solid and high profile track record of hoaxing things.

Its hard to know who to rely on but Snopes and the big guys are suspect as their own record shows.

I'm gonna bow out here as I feel this has ran it's course.

Two days in a row Willie Cunningham has said that the official story now that the police released on Friday is that the AR 15 was left in the car and not used in the shooting. I can't find that press release anywhere. Is that accurate?

Im just curious as to why the police wont answer questions to put down the rumors of a conspiracy.

Because they are under no obligation to do so. Why should they have to answer every person's questions? It would never end with the conspiracy theorists. Police have other jobs to do besides attend to questions from CTists.
