December 28, 201213 yr How can he say it is disrespectful yet refuses to watch it? Spike Lee isn't a fan of Tarrintino. He also criticized his "Jackie Brown" movie because he didn't agree with some of the dialogue written for the role played by Samuel Jackson. For my part I love all his movies. Pulp Fiction is my favorite.
December 28, 201213 yr Best movie I've seen this year. Incredible work by Leo, Samuel, and especially Christoph Waltz. Jaime Foxx was pretty good as well. A little long, but I never once wanted the movie to end.
December 28, 201213 yr How can he say it is disrespectful yet refuses to watch it? Because he's jealous. He wishes he could have been Tarantino.
December 28, 201213 yr How can Spike Lee say it's disrespectful when it's a movie based in the mid 1800's, pre-civil war? That's how things were, and they capture it well in the movie. It's not like it's set in present day. Like Tarantino said, he didn't want to water it down, and I don't think the movie would have been half as good if he did.

December 28, 201213 yr Author Because he's jealous. He wishes he could have been Tarantino.Honestly, I think this has something to do with it.
December 28, 201213 yr I hate spike lee. My fishing buddy (who is black) stopped by the house the other day and said he saw this and loved it. I asked if he saw what spike said and he laughed and said " you white people were evil but black people in Africia got rich selling other black people to become slaves in America" Very true and what you think anout that Spike?? I was called evil too since I always watch more fish HaHa. We had a good laugh
December 29, 201213 yr Great great movie. Great story. It's probably my #2 or #3 Tarantino flick. Samuel Jackson had me dying.
January 4, 201313 yr Loved the movie. I agree that I was surprised by the comedy and especially found the "white hood scene" funny. Christoph Walz has to win some kind of award for his performance
January 5, 201313 yr Just got home from the theater. Great movie. Tarantino never fails me. A few quick observations (maybe some spoilers): - Christoph Waltz was awesome. Jamie Foxx and DiCaprio were both awesome in their major roles, but Waltz was the star in my book. - Didn't recognize Sam Jackson until he started talking. And once he did... wow... the guy was killing me through the whole thing. - Don Johnson as "Big Daddy"... BWWAAHAHAHAHA! - Tarantino putting himself in as a guy with an Australian accent; he seriously could not be any more bizarre.

Waltz was amazing, but I think I might like his performance in Basterds slightly more. Samuel L stole the show for me and I couldn't agree more on Don Johnson as "Big Daddy". I have now saw this twice and I would be comfortable putting it only behind Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill in my personal QT ranks.
January 5, 201313 yr Author Came across this today. Very interesting points made by the author: http://www.grantland.com/blog/hollywood-prospectus/post/_/id/64541/django-the-n-word-and-how-we-talk-about-race-in-2013
January 5, 201313 yr I went and saw it last weekend and loved it. Hard for me to rank it with all of Tarantino's other movies, I really like all of them. Samuel L was definitely funny, but I thought that Christopher Waltz stole the act overall throughout the movie.
