Ryle spent a little over $2000 just last summer to put all new pads on their free weight/cardio equipment in the room over the gymnasium. Do they have a second weight room as well??

 

The football team does not use that weight room, they have to use equipment in their locker room. Total joke!

This topic has been discussed before, and i am always amazed with the facilities at some schools. Montgomery County has some of the top facilities in the state in all sports. They have two weightrooms on campus with the top weightroom being connected to the field house, it is generally football only in that weight room. Wrestlers also use the facility as well as few basketball players. It's not just the facilities that are impressive at Montgomery County but the equipment is top notch. I've been in the weightroom with a college coach and he said Montgomery County has the largest chains he had ever seen. They also have a couple of prowlers and a couple running sleds. Since Montgomery County has made the changes to the weightroom they have gone on to be very competitive in powerlifting, i believe they have won a few 5A state championships.

I couldnt help but notice ole Cunningham Field, home of the Kentucky's original and best preseason Bowl venues, The Recreation Bowl.

The team gets to use a million dollar facility for their games and practice. The basketball teams play in a gym that is now 4th best in their own county. The weight room in the gym area is very small, not suitable for football. Let's keep things in perspective and be grateful for what you have.

Don't know Dale's position today or what it will be in the future, but when Dale has been approached in the past (and I've been one of several approachers) about significantly improving the weight room, his answer has consistently been something to the effect of: no thanks. What we have works. Rather see the money go to academic/classroom upgrades.

So enough of HHS taking over another thread. Do you have pics to post of their weight room or does anyone have any of their schools??

 

 

You ask what folk's high school weight rooms look like on a site with a lot of Highlands posters and then take issue with Highlands posters talking about their weight room? Seems odd to me.

 

Funniest part of it all, the condition of Highlands weight room was first mentioned by a CovCath fan; not a Highlands fan. It may not look impressive, but impressive results come out of it.
