I like how Highlands improvises. Weight room too small? Just take those weights outside and run through Ft. Thomas with them. Can't put them down unless you hand off to another player.

Here is a very small picture of the downstairs weight room at Beechwood ....

(There is also a fitness room upstairs--more machine/cardio oriented).

I love the new building.

But ... there are many times where I miss the dungeon.

 

Looks nice for the little we can see.

I am posting this in football because so many teams are back at work in the weight room getting ready for next season. I was at the SK vs NewCath girls frosh game tonight and did a little walking around. It has been several years since I have been up on the Hill and wow the school looks amazing and the addition is mind blowing. I opened a door and walked into the weight room and my jaw dropped. In my day a long time ago we had a weight room about as big as my living room. The new one is huge with two floors!! Multiple machines of every type with the NewCath logo painted everywhere. It has to be one of the very best weight rooms around. I think some small colleges would be jealous. I was going to take pics to post but some kids were working out so I didnt. Maybe someone on the Hill more than me like Lawnboy could take some from upstairs and down and post a bunch to show everyone. I hope the kids know how great they got it these days!!! What does your schools weight room look like??

There is a thread somewhere which has a picture of Trinity's weight room. It is outstanding also. I can't find it right now though.

So, everybody that wants to see Highlands get a "state of the art" weight room facility to help them take it to another level raise their hand...

 

Thats what I thought, not many hands will go in the air, for those that think there are too many classes now and the system is watered down and Highlands just wins because then give the Birds a top notch facility and lets see just where this thing could go.

 

Just sayn...:thumb: But then again, when it aint broke why fix it. :D

from personal experience, the weight training facilities at Ryle are absolutely awful.

In fact the weight room is actually located in the varsity locker room which is inadequate to begin with.

Looks like that parents are going to have to take matters into their own hands if they want to improve the situation.

The district is financially strapped and I am sure there are no plans to renovate or update. To say that the weight room

is woeful would be an understatement.

Are you saying Highlands doesn't want a new weight room?

Ryle spent a little over $2000 just last summer to put all new pads on their free weight/cardio equipment in the room over the gymnasium. Do they have a second weight room as well??
