December 12, 201213 yr Stubbs isn't in the deal? That is what I am seeing. So all the Reds give up is Didi? If that is all true, Jocketty is a genius.
December 12, 201213 yr Stubbs is gone... OK. I thought that sounded too good to be true but that is what my fantasy site had posted.
December 12, 201213 yr Brad Johansen @bradjohansen Jocketty:" This puts us in a position to win this yr, maybe get a draft pick for him next yr. Couple more things to work on. We never rest."
December 12, 201213 yr Shocking. Better players make the manager better. Crazy concept. Love the deal.
December 12, 201213 yr Anyone know anything about the Jason Donald character? No bat, can play many positions.
December 12, 201213 yr Author Anyone know anything about the Jason Donald character? Basically a younger version of Miguel Cairo....Will slide into the utility IF role.
December 12, 201213 yr I was much higher (read much less down) on Stubbs than most (and probably more than his objective stats warranted). I am a "defense up the middle, offense on the corners" traditionalist which boosts Stubbs in my opinion. That said, I was originally on the fence about this trade. The facts the tip it in the Reds favor for me are the $3.5M (making Ludwick's deal / Latos' arb award / Bailey's arb award / etec. easier to swallow) and the possibility of a "sandwich pick" if they tender Choo and he leaves. Of course, long term analysis of this trade will be Hamilton's performance 2d 1/2 of 2013 (when he could come up as a pinch runner, bat off the bench, defensive replacement, etc.) and in 2014. Until Hamilton is ready, assume Heisey gets the 4th OF & defensive replacement nod in 2013. Is Choo a switch hitter or does he just like the 2 flap helmet?
