I don't think a freshmen should win it, it leaves too much room for them to be a 1 hit wonder,If he was the best player in the country "this year" it should not matter at all if he was a freshman. Technically every Heisman winner except Archie Griffin is a one hit wonder then. Because he's the only one to win it twice. plus I think you should put your time in like others have., The Heisman is a one year award. It is not an award for multiple year accomplishments. Te'o should have won, he is undefeated, playing for National Championship, missed Mamaws and girlfriends funeral to stay with the team and play. Now there is dedication and leadership and a role model. He is a class individual, but that does not make him the best football player in the country "this year".
