December 6, 201213 yr Came across this on Texas Tech site about Neal Brown "He's talked to unnamed sources on the Tech side of things that believe he will leave. He's said Kentucky is still very much in consideration, but believes he would take a head coaching job if offered. The schools he mentioned were Kentucky and Southern Miss. He didn't say anything about Arkansas State or Lousiana Tech. Does that mean they are not options? Not necessarily."
December 6, 201213 yr What offense does he run ? I don't know.... Try here My son plays at EKU and I watched their game against Murray State. They run the air raid but they go no huddle and try to snap it very early in the play clock like Oregon. In the game vs. Eastern they threw it 52 times and ran it 28. A lot of short passes and screens.
December 6, 201213 yr I have heard Hatcher's named mentioned. He is well respected amongst other coaches for his offensive creativity and was supposedly rumored to be in the running for the Florida OC job a couple seasons ago but it was ultimately given to Charlie Weis. I have also heard Dusty Bonner has advocated for Hatcher. The offense at Murray State has been fine. The defense has been pitiful, but you can tell he is building a solid foundation with better talent across the board. The MSU program was all but gutted when he arrived, especially up front. Hatcher is also well connected in the south.
December 7, 201213 yr Anybody think Chris Hatcher is a viable candidate for the job? 10 years ago Chris Hatcher's name was as hot as any coach running the spread. He won a NC at Valdosta, but his move to GA Southern didn't work out too well for him. Most everyone you talk to says he is one of the brightest minds running the Spread... he is a really good QB coach to boot, something that Brown is not.
December 7, 201213 yr Chris Hatcher would be VERY good coming back to U.K. as O.C. if he is A. Willing to give up being a head coach B. Willing to use the TE and or FB in the air-raid offense, which is what I believe Stoops wants. (It can and has been done)

(It can and has been done) I can't speak for Hatcher, but I have always gotten the sense he wants to move up in the ranks. I am sure he is questioning if that is possible at Murray State.
