Man ejected from Bills game found dead Friday morning

Featured Replies

The Buffalo News reports that a 26-year-old man was found dead face down in a creek near Ralph Wilson Stadium early on Friday morning. Police were using a helicopter to help search for the man after his brother reported him missing after the game.

The deceased man, whose name has not been revealed, was ejected from the stadium during the game for allegedly being intoxicated. Police were able to track his whereabouts after getting a “ping” from his cellphone and used the helicopter in order to pinpoint his exact location.

Terrible news...

On the legal side, I wonder how the law reads in New York when someone is intoxicated. If the same thing happened in KY I strongly assume the authority figure/his employer would have some responsibility/negligence for the death.

Thoughts?

What would his employer have to do with his being loaded at the Bills game? Did he get drunk at work?

Really sad situation.

A person can get arrested for public intoxication, right? If so how do the police determine if you will be ejected or arrested? Just curious...

I mean the security personal and/or police. If he is too drunk to be in the stadium he is too drunk to be outside the stadium.

This is the NFL. Going to games has become a nightmare for a lot of people. Anyone take kids to games anymore?

Agreed, not a chance.

I've been to 3 Bengals games over the last 3 years, and haven't experienced a single problem as far as drunks, or even any foul language.

You must have been trying pretty hard not to notice then.

I know at Raymond James, they don't eject people from the stadium if they are too intoxicated. They are arrested. The police have holding cells in the stadium to incarcerate arrestees until they can be processed after the game. I guess Ralph Wilson doesn't have something like that.

It's sad that it has to be that way. I'm hoping his family doesn't try to file a lawsuit, if they do I hope there is a countersuit for being negligent family members sense apparently his brother was at the game with him when he was ejected.

Haven't been trying anything. The seats are front row of upper deck. I haven't seen or heard any problems near me at any of the games.

Thanks, 00Rocket28. So a person then gets arrested under KRS222.202?
