VERY dominating game by the Breds. I figured they would win without any trouble, but figured the Indians would make it a little more interesting. Congratulations to New Cath on a very impressive win.

ouch

And it could have been much worse, two plays after the 1st INT return for a TD Danial Ruwe goes 68 yards with another pick six, but the ball comes back to the HC 36 because of a "phantom" block in the back and the Breds miss out on 4th down when Ruwe is pushed out of the endzone before he could get a foot down. And at the end of the 1st half with less than 1:00 to go at about the HC 20 Josh Cain over throws a wide open Tyler Lyon in the endzone. Other than HC's 1st series, where they picked up 50 yards and the 4th quarter against the JV squad, they didn't have over 100 yards of offense.

This is what everyone Expected. NCC has a Cake Walk to round 4. We all knew that going in. Cong: on Big Win.

Did Trail play at all?

I remember reading earlier this year that Trail was a D 1 recruit. What is the latest with his recruitment? Congrats to NCC on the win.

This is not 100% accurate. It doesn't matter a hill of beans, but actually HC had more rushing yards at half time. That is why statistics are overrated sometimes. NCC was much more explosive when they had the ball. They ran much fewer plays and usually scored on most of them. HC was able to move the ball successfully early via Pouncy runs and a short passing game. NCC has a good defense, but HC never tried to test it with big plays. Controlling the clock was HC's only chance in this game. HC's defense was their downfall this entire year. It did not have the players to consistently provide containment on the edges. Gabbard played very well in the Owen County game so he got the start against NCC. He is also a good runner and is taller. However, he obviously did not have a good game passing last night. Trail saw some action in the 4th quarter. It will take a very good (and I mean extremely good and fast) defensive team to slow down NCC. I don't know if one exists in who is left in 2A. I wish NCC lots of success.

nkypete, I agree 100% with this assessment. The opening series with Gabbard under center and 5 wideouts had the Breds "flustered" to say the least, as the Indians were moving the ball quite well. Could you please post the HC offensive yardage minus the opening drive and the 4th quarter, Thanks.

I will never put down a kid in HS but i believe anyone who thought Trail has D1 talent is out of their mind!

NewCath has jelled as a team at the right moment, IMO they are well on their way to the AA State Championship.

Good bye Koz. Better luck next year.
