I was just wondering about this young man. Haven't heard too much on this forum. He had a great game last year versus Conner. I would also like to point out that Fogle did not play almost 3 full quarters because of a knee injury last year. That has been over-looked because, well, Conner scored 84...

It is amazing enough to score 84... If Fogle played it would be hard to score any more but he may have had 6 TD's that others had when he was out. I wish I could be at this game. Good luck to the Cougars and I hope Cooper can pull out a win as well and set up a classic rematch.

I don't think Conner would have scored MORE points (although they realistically could have kneeling on the oppositions 10 yard line) I just meant its amazing they were able to score 84 without their best player. Personally if I was Franklin Co's HC I would have given the ball to Timmons 30 times last year instead of 10... If that happened FC would have won IMO.

Don't worry FC fans, trust me, if you ever say anything negative about Conner you will see the real crybabies come out

From scrolling through this thread, it is obvious that people have many varying opinions on Friday's game. One thing is for certain, this game will not be a blow-out. Both teams are loaded with talent, especially at the skill positions. As Queen of Pink stated, this game will be decided by special teams and turnovers. People can talk all they want about either squad, but when it comes down to it, the game will be decided on the field. The Flyers obviously feel that they have something to prove after the beating they took from Conner last year. Conner feels that they have to prove that last year was not a fluke and that they are a serious 5A contender. When it is all said and done I have to give the slight edge to Conner simply based upon their schedule. Conner has been in numerous close games this season and has learned how to finish with the game on the line. In glancing at FC's schedule they have only played in one close game all season (Anderson Co.). I believe this could hurt Franklin County. One thing is for sure, both teams will be fired up and ready to go. Either way it plays out, best of luck to both squads.

The "schedule" issue can be tricky. You can play a bad schedule and still be really good.

I think the issue is watered down a bit simply because they have great weapons.

I'm looking forward to it.

Well I waited until today to weigh in on this one. I am taking my Flyers 51-39. Not sure, just thought it looked like an interesting #. I'll admit I am biased, but I sincerely believe that Ryan Timmons is Mr. Football and Logan Woodside is the best QB in KY. That being said, Conner is a great team and has fantastic weapons of their own, including a very good coach! Last year was so disappointing for Flyer Nation and I do not think our school was ready for prime time. 33 years since round three overwhelmed us and our kids were shell shocked! This will not happen this year. Much more mature team and very determined bunch of kids with great men coaching them! Taking nothing away from Conner, they flat whipped us and deserved to win, but this group is wired different! We improved through addition by subtraction and got rid of some problems! Whoever wins will have my support moving forward through the playoffs! I just hope it's Navy and Gold! The Flyers are all I've got since my Hounds went home quick!

Hey Birdie. Don't you have anything better to post? This may be the greatest informed post regarding a playoff game ever. Child please.

You know, it's not often you score 48 points, accumulate over 500 yards of total offense ( timmons likely had 300 by himself ) and lose by 36. FC also had almost double digit turnovers that game last year too. There was no point last year or this year that they looked that bad as a team. That's probably why most have said it was a fluke

The overall numbers were shocking.

The most shocking numbers were 42 and 6.

42 first-half points.

6 second-half points.

That was all due to coaching Clyde. Coach Trosper and his staff were brilliant that game. I expect the same tomorrow night. Coach Trosper from Conner is a football coach who gets very little credit for being one. He is a great game planner.

Looking forward to tomorrow night.

I agree he is a great coach and his game plan last year was born of necessity. He knew we were gonna score, so why not on-side kick it and take a chance on getting the ball back? Both teams will score big tomorrow night. I can assure you he never imagined 84 points and 700 plus yards rushing. They were awesome. I believe our coaches will be just as great this year. Should be a dandy!

I wasn't there last year.

Did he truly onside kick or did he pooch kick?

He has pooch kicked a lot this year.

5 straight on-side kicks and recovered 4. Basically the equivelant of four more turnovers. 3 picks, 4 fumbles (including 1 on the half yard line going in for a score to put us up by two TD's and 2 plays later, #29 goes 80 plus to the house to tie the game) and 4 on-side recoveries = 11 turnovers! : - (

I would hope to see a huge crowd for this one! Anyone know how Conner travels? Several thousand people would be nice! People who have no allegiance to either team should come see this one, it will be a show!
