He was in for one play against Johnson Central before having to leave again due to the injury. I believe it's a foot ligament injury.

Because that is the semi-state, where Region 4 (HHS) plays Region 3 (Lex Cath). The same alternating number system applies in that round as well. Since it was an odd-numbered year, it was Region 3's year to be at home.

I believe the last time Ashland beat Highlands was in 1954. The last time Ashland played Highlands in a regular season game was 1969. I saw very few games through the history to which Ashland played Highlands close. Even though I love my Maroon and White, I don't see this game being any different than the last one played in 2008(53-6).If Highlands has a good passing game,they should be able to exploit Ashland's short secondary. Last year when Ashland played Covington Catholic, I thought their passing attack would prevail.However they ran all over the Tomcats at Putnam Stadium. If Highlands Strength is running the ball, they may initially have some trouble with Ashland's defensive line. Thats why I think Ft.Thomas will go to the air early and often.I would love to see the Tomcats win but being a realist numbs my confidence.

Great post! Many have said that HHS may have problems running. Not disagreeing, but I'll have to see it to believe it. Where HHS is now, I just can't see anyone in the state shutting their run game down, including Trinity. Teams may slow them down, but not shut them down. They ran the ball on Elder, who in my opinion would give Trinity all they want.

 

Every team improves as the season moves forward, but the improvement I have seen in this HHS team since day 1 has been a huge jump. Once they found their identity, they have been very good. Not trying to stir up the Trinity fans, but I do think a game now would have a much different outcome. Not saying a win by HHS at all. Trinity is still by far the best team in the state, but it would not be a blow out like the first game. I know we all wish that game could happen again, but unfortunately it won't.

 

Good luck to Ashland. I don't want them to win, but I would love to see a competitive game! It's going to be tough on them having to travel to play and that kinda stinks for them. As a football fan, kinda wish the game was there. As a HHS fan, glad it's in Ft. Thomas!

It is there year to travel to that district. It rotates every year....08, 10, now 12 if JC wins.

 

Just remember, when HHS moved to 4A things changed. In 5A (and for several years before that as well), HHS used to be in an ALL travel or ALL home in RD3 (assuming = seeds) and RD4 situation. Now in 4A, they have 1 home game and 1 travel game (assuming = seeds in RD3) and it alternates each year as explained by others.

Iam always amazed by how many kids have those hand warmer pouches on during the game.

I for one think they should be banned because they become part of the unis and if a defender is reaching for anything and grabs one it has the breakaway clip which releases.

It sorta is like the old "tearaway" jerseys worn by a few teams of past that have ventured into DCM over the yrs. :madman:

Besides those camouflage ones are hard to see..................................:thumb:

I just checked the KDFWR website and noticed Tomcat season starts Nov. 9th at 7:30. No weapon exclusions.
