mcpapa
She still likes the Bush's. I think General Powell is still upset about being the messenger to UN on WMDs. "Optimism is a force multiplier." - Colin Powell I think you are 1000% correct.
Randy Parker
Isn't Mitt more of a moderate republican as well? Which Mitt? The one running for President now? Or the one who ran for Governor in Massachusetts?

statman
It's doesn't, Colin Powell is about as well known these days as Milli Vanilli If I didn't know any better I would think you either didn't serve in the military or have low regard for those who served in the capacity General Powell did. Not sure about Corleone, but I have a great respect for his service in the military (as well as all who serve), but that doesn't mean I have to give a flying crap about his political views. His opinion carries no more weight than any other person in this country as far as I'm concerned.

His opinion carries no more weight than any other person in this country as far as I'm concerned. My reference is based on his Milli Vanilli comment. I might say he is as well known these days as Milli Vanilli politically, but I can't and won't say that regarding his military career.
Lucky Charms
It obviously does to John McCain. I think McCain is more upset that Powell still calls himself an R.
Lucky Charms
No doubt. Too bad he managed to run a bad campaign in 2008. We might be blaming him for all of this mess instead of Obama. McCain did run a bad campaign and Obama ran a very good to near perfect campaign in 2008. Things look a little different this year. Obama and Obama's campaign will be the only one's to blame if he is not in the White House for a second term.
Habib
I doubt if endorsements make anyone change their vote but when added to other factors they can be a boost. Yep. Endorsements don't swing votes in either direction by themselves, but they factor into the perceptions of candidates at some level. I think people are mistaken if they think voting is a rational process for most voters.
Michael Corleone
If I didn't know any better I would think you either didn't serve in the military or have low regard for those who served in the capacity General Powell did. I'm just saying that Powell's endorsement will mean next to nothing. I appreciate his service time but most people under 30 don't have a clue who Colin Powell is.
