PurplePride92
This isn't anywhere near as important as the Hugo Chavez endorsement.
PurplePride92
I doubt if endorsements make anyone change their vote but when added to other factors they can be a boost. This one is certainly a boost to Obama. Agreed.
PurplePride92
Yea no huge surprise here. He did endorse Obama in 2008. I think it speaks volumes as to whether we should believe in Obama or not IMO. Would Powell publicly endorse someone he didn't see fit to run the country? I don't think he would. Randy Parker
I believe you nay be thinking of his endorsement in the last election. That's what I meant. People of Powell's stature endorse candidates running for the same office twice? I guess I just assumed that the endorsement still stood.

Don't be ridiculous. You have shown enough political acumen to recognize the significance of a former Bush staffer jumping party lines twice in the last two elections. Should I only pay attention to you when you talk basketball now?

Plus, he saw how people treated poor Stacy Dash and wanted no part of it (Once again my big grin button isn't working).

Hatz
It's doesn't, Colin Powell is about as well known these days as Milli Vanilli And to me that is the tragedy of American Politics these days. Quality people are sitting out of the circus on either side of the aisle. All we are left with are the ones who run now.
Bluegrasscard
Would Condy Rice jump party lines and give an endorsement? I don't think she would. She still likes the Bush's. I think General Powell is still upset about being the messenger to UN on WMDs. "Optimism is a force multiplier." - Colin Powell

"Optimism is a force multiplier." - Colin Powell The Bushes aren't running and Powell still claims republican. If anything Mitt Romney has distanced himself from the Bush regime as well. Seems as though he and Colin Powell would get along swimmingly. Isn't Mitt more of a moderate republican as well?

Because they know they will get blamed for every little thing that goes wrong and that it's going to take time to fix the US.
