Too Bad Highlands & Bowling Green are no longer in the Same Class

Featured Replies

BG lost in the state finals three years in a row immediately before realignment. Only lost one of those games to Highlands. Guess there could have been two more BG/Highlands games had Highlands been able to at least make it to the state finals as well. The same sentiment applies to you guys.

Yeah lost....:notworthy:HHS has been in 5 in a row and won everyone. Highlands has 21 State Championships... How many does BG have? Your talking Apples and Oranges..Could BG beat HHS? Maybe once or twice if they played 10 times..

Boyle will see you soon. Sure hope you guys have figured out how to stop the run by then. Still hearing about holes a train could go through......

You went from this.....

Yeah because BG didn't make it to the finals!!! lol..Highlands won every 5a State Championship they ever played in.

Got this direct reply to your post.....

Obviously you got flustered when you realized the truth(took over 24 hours for a reply) and then deflected to this...

So I'll deflect to this....

5 in row? Big deal. Been there and done that with Boyle. Remember them? The ones who set the record you hope to beat this year? The ones who set the bar when it comes to winning championships in a row? The ones who showed you guys that you were good....but not good enough......and made you do some self reflecting? The ones who allegedly ran the score up on you in the state finals? I'll even go further. Be glad you went down to 4A. It'd have been so sweet to see BG end your streak at 4 last year. Too bad you'd rather play Paducah Tilghman than in the Rafferty's Bowl. Maybe in 2015.

Thats good. Highlands beat Boyle Co. even with holes a train could go through.

And Highlands should be the favorites when the rematch rolls around also.

The old, change what the arugement is about trick (bolded)

Was it that in 2004 Boyle Co. only scored 6 points in 2 games against Highlands with a Mr. Kentucky Football candidate at QB and Highlands was missing one of their best players in the second meeting? Was that good enough?

Would you rather have 7 state championships or 21?

Would you rather have the most wins in Kentucky history or not rank in the top 15 wins?

I think everyone would like to see these two programs meet up. Would have loved to get a home and home with BG rather than PT.

Funny, acknowledge me changing the argument but not raiderbird who was the first to change it up. At least you guys stick together.

I am completely and totally satisfied with where Boyle County is. Especially knowing where they came from. I don't keep track of their total wins or BG total wins. I do know that despite not having Highlands total wins and 21 state titles BG and Boyle are still two very respected programs in the state of Kentucky. It's too bad a portion of Highlands fans don't think anyone who has Highlands pedigree is as respectable as them. Sad indeed. Whatever you guys need to do to improve your self esteem is cool with me though. You do what you gotta do to get through the day. Especially a Monday. See you Thanksgiving weekend.

Thanks for making the Birds a better team.

So you wanted BG to end Highlands streak ? Is that because Boyle couldn't do it?

If they were both in 5A then yeah. But remember, I just want BG and Boyle to beat Highlands period. If the streak ends as a result then that's the icing on the cake.

I think last year's BG team was the only team with a chance to in the last 5 titles to do so. Funny how it all works. BG finally fields the teams that could beat Highlands and Highlands goes to 4A. Right after the 2 Boyle teams that could have beaten Highlands graduated. Funny.....

As for your 2nd paragragh, you do realize that Highlands had no say in any of these matters, right?

You can not allow the facts to get in the way of their argument...:idunno:

like it was Highlands decision to move down. People get mad that kids move to Ft. Thomas, but then blame Highlands for not playing in a higher classification. Ya can't have it both ways.

What is even funnier is that Bowling Green finally won another state championship since Highlands moved to a different class. Ironic? They were in the same class for how long? 1995 was the last?

As for Boyle, isn't it funny that right when Highlands gets into Boyle's class, Highlands wins... again?

The commonality is Highlands winning when in the same tournament as Bowling Green and Boyle.
