Too Bad Highlands & Bowling Green are no longer in the Same Class

Featured Replies

Funny, acknowledge me changing the argument but not raiderbird who was the first to change it up. At least you guys stick together.

I am completely and totally satisfied with where Boyle County is. Especially knowing where they came from. I don't keep track of their total wins or BG total wins. I do know that despite not having Highlands total wins and 21 state titles BG and Boyle are still two very respected programs in the state of Kentucky. It's too bad a portion of Highlands fans don't think anyone who has Highlands pedigree is as respectable as them. Sad indeed. Whatever you guys need to do to improve your self esteem is cool with me though. You do what you gotta do to get through the day. Especially a Monday. See you Thanksgiving weekend.

Where?

I never said Bowling Green and Boyle aren't respectable programs. I played against Boyle 4 times and trust me I respect them. I went on a recruiting visit with one of the Boyle players and sat with him during our visit.

As for your 2nd paragragh, you do realize that Highlands had no say in any of these matters, right?

Did I say they did? You should know me well enough to answer that question yourself.

You can not allow the facts to get in the way of their argument...:idunno:

What argument? Pointing out something that is coincidental and funny. By all means show me where I said Highlands controlled any of that.

I'll wait.

like it was Highlands decision to move down. People get mad that kids move to Ft. Thomas, but then blame Highlands for not playing in a higher classification. Ya can't have it both ways.

What is even funnier is that Bowling Green finally won another state championship since Highlands moved to a different class. Ironic? They were in the same class for how long? 1995 was the last?

As for Boyle, isn't it funny that right when Highlands gets into Boyle's class, Highlands wins... again?

The commonality is Highlands winning when in the same tournament as Bowling Green and Boyle.

It's like a broken record with you guys sometimes......

Show me where I said Highlands controls any of that. Please show me where I said that.

Again, I'll wait......

Re-read post 19. The posts are in chronological order. Once I pointed out that Highlands suffered the same fate as BG by not making the finals for the BG/Highlands matchup he changed his argument instead of simply replying to my reply.

You may not be directly at fault but the underlying tone by some Highlands posters gives off that air of arrogance sometimes. Highlands backs up the arrogance more than anyone else. Doesn't make it any easier to take though. It definitely makes it a lot harder for me to say, "yeah, you're right."

PP is very passionate about those two schools. We should love him for it! Look at us HHS fans! It's almost a disease with us! I think all he is saying is that it would have been nice to see BG and BC play HHS when...What he said...they could have played with them. I'm not sure he's saying he was guaranteeing any wins, just that it would have been nice to play HHS with the teams he felt could have made it a great game. The years just didn't work out with all the movement.

Now I say we would have beat them by 3 tds each year, but who am I??? Just kidding PP. Just doing my best UK#1 for ya!

Bowling Green and Highlands are two great programs and a game between them, whether this year, next year of 5 years from now would be something. PT is also a program rich in history, and HHS and PT have played some great games in the past. I am looking forward to seeing how this game goes next year.

I'm just glad you could translate for me. Definitely wasn't guaranteeing a win. Just think those particular teams could have played with them. Unfortunate it didn't work out. That's all I am saying.

Thank you!!! I'll see you soon homey!!!!

PP, You do get a boobie prize in that Cov Cath will probably have enough boys to be 5A in the next year or two so at least you'll get to play one of the best teams from NKY. I know that'll make Clyde happy but it'll make us sad and I fear that the rivalry may fade.

I don't know. The Boyle County/Danville rivalry has lasted through numerous class changes. As has Warren Central/BG. Rivalries that have that much passion tend to stay strong. I'd be surprised if the rivalry faded. I do look forward to BG/CovCath if that does happen.

I was referring to when Boyle county really entered this conversation. Both Highlands and Bowling Green are in the title of this thread. So what was said in post #19 was about Highlands and Bowling Green. You "deflected" the conversation to Highlands - Boyle County (Not the title of the thread). See Below. This was the response for you getting called out for Bowling Green not being good enough to make it to the finals in years that Highlands won state championshipS.

So I'll deflect to this....

5 in row? Big deal. Been there and done that with Boyle. Remember them? The ones who set the record you hope to beat this year? The ones who set the bar when it comes to winning championships in a row? The ones who showed you guys that you were good....but not good enough......and made you do some self reflecting? The ones who allegedly ran the score up on you in the state finals? I'll even go further. Be glad you went down to 4A. It'd have been so sweet to see BG end your streak at 4 last year. Too bad you'd rather play Paducah Tilghman than in the Rafferty's Bowl. Maybe in 2015.

I was just at Lowes and the guy in the paint dept said I could paint oilbase over latex but not latex over oilbase...........

I went ahead and bought a gallon of Kilz instead.

One deflection deserves another. I can deflect all night if needed. Once you bring up 5 championships in a row Boyle County is mentioned. Indirectly or directly.
