Too Bad Highlands & Bowling Green are no longer in the Same Class

Featured Replies

I think it will happen one day. Just not before 2015.

I changed the subject AFTER the subject was changed from Highlands/BG to all of Highlands accomplishments in the first sentence in post #16 and after Boyle County was first mentioned by hoosierbirdfan in post #17. But it's okay when you guys change the subject......

Right talking about Highlands and/or Bowling Green which is the subject at hand...

These were the quotes your referenced:

1 talked about comparing apples to oranges

2 was a joke

Yeah lost....:notworthy:HHS has been in 5 in a row and won everyone. Highlands has 21 State Championships... How many does BG have? Your talking Apples and Oranges..Could BG beat HHS? Maybe once or twice if they played 10 times..

Wow, I guess there isn't much to talk about in Boyle County , so your jumping on the BG bandwagon? :D

Then you changed the subject when you talked about Bowling Green losing 3 years in a row at state, 1 to Highlands and the other 2 to common opponents.

Sigh......my deflection came after his deflection.

The proper response to post #14 is more along the lines of this......

"Yeah, Highlands wasn't good enough to make it to the state finals all 3 years in a row that BG did just like BG wasn't good enough to make it to the state finals when Highlands won 5A every year they were there."

See, that's not so hard is it? The ability to recognize your own failures. Self-reflection is what some call it.

Instead we got post #16 reminding us of how great Highlands is.

Just kills you guys to have to remember failed years, huh? Just erase it from memory like Men in Black?

It's a awful arguement when you lose to the same opponent (Cov Cath and Lex Cath), or lose head-to-head to the team you are arguing about.

You did it 1st, no, in post number ^&*%, you detracted 1st, no, it was you, no, it was you.. Okay, it was me, 1st, but, Highlands still has more wins, more titles, better tradition, plays better competition, would have hammered you in all the years we didn't play you...Oh, yeah, some of you guys are just too arrogant for your own good and keep chasing Boyle Co's record and BGreen beat St X, who run clocked ya'll that year and had ya'll made it to the finals the other 2 years we did, maybe ya'll could prove that.. Okay, here we go again.. All I'm doing is answering a question and I only detracted from the topic because you did it 1st...uhhnn, it was you, 2 posts earlier, no, it was you, no it wasn't.. Well then, I'm gonna take my Sr Citizen arse down your way and we'll just settle it face to face, Mr Internet Tough Guy...Bring it on, Old Man....

Ya'll are killin' me... Great entertainment though...

 Batta bop bop baa I'm Loving It.

Wow, this one went down hill fast. Maybe crawl before you walk young sky walker. PP will show you the way whether you like it or not.

That was the rebuttal to your comparative scores logic but now that the comparative scores logic backfires on you then you switch your argument up. I see what's going on here.

I didn't say a team would beat another team because of a score. I caught you in a lie. You were wrong. You said, "I know John Hardin kept Boyle from scoring for the first time since 1998 and Highlands didn't." ----- Fact

Highlands shut out Boyle County in 2004 --- Fact

Trying to twist my words again? :idunno:

His content doesn't line up, and he has been arguing against Highlands with 2 different teams by changing the subject.

This is an argument that will never end. He thinks Bowling Green and I think Highlands is better. I give an argument where Highlands is clearly better and he give a Boyle Co. fact. Then he gives me an argument why Bowling Green is better than Highlands and it is Highlands winning a state championship over Bowling Green, but Bowling Green made to the finals the 2 years prior! (even though both teams ended up losing to the eventual state champion that year).

My best argument. Highlands has 5 state championships in a row, it took Highlands dropping down a class (which Highlands has no control over and most agree 4a is tougher) for Bowling Green to finally "break through", the western side of the state has not traditionally been good in schools near that size (Highlands has 441 boys compared to BG's 582 which equates to around 75%) In the last 15 years of Highlands and Bowling Green being in the same classification, NKY and Central KY won every state championship while Bowling Green or Southwestern KY have not won any, Highlands won 9. Getting to the state championship is not an accomplishment when you are comparing programs to Highlands.

Look..I realize those arguments are all about the past, but that is a list over a long period of time. I think Bowling Green and Highlands are both quality programs, BG has made big strides in recent years, but I don't think they are on Highlands level yet. This would be a fun game to watch.

1.) You are taking quotes from 2011 and applying them to this thread and that is confusing the crap out of me.

2.) A lie is to purposely withhold the truth and I didn't do that. At the worst I am wrong and can be corrected when presented with facts. I got my info from the Danville paper regarding that shutout info.

3.) I guess the scoreboard is wrong. Says Boyle County actually shut out Highlands 1-0. Forfeit. Highlands won the rematch 22-6. Still not a shut out.

I would love to be there, but I live in Florida now and unfortunately won't be able to get off work that Friday to be able to make it home.
