Missed go ahead fg at end of half, dropped probable td pass, and called back kickoff return for td sealed the deal for the Birds. With Elder, you don't stop them, you just out score them. These were the key plays of the game, IMO. The score does no justice to the game that I witnessed. Great job, Birds as well as special congrats to the Bluebird defense. Despite the rushing numbers, I felt they did a fantastic job at stopping the freight trains Elder possessed.

Proud of my Birds....a big shout out to my nephew #11 Andrew Abner. Played his heart out at safety. Not bad for a Soph.....I think he was in on like the 1st 7-8 tackles. I know, your safeties shouldn't be making tackles but who cares. Hope him being dinged up is only minor. Hate to see the Cowboy miss any games.

It was 10-10 at half. Highlands had a td dropped that would of tied the game up late in the 3rd quarter. Next play HHS tries a screen and the de picks it off for Elder. They score a few plays later that puts them up 14..Instead of a tie you are down 14.. That was a huge momentum change to say the least.. HHS was just too small on the defensive side of the ball to stop Elder's power running game..

You failed to mention the beautiful opening drive of the second half that put the Birds up 24-17 mid third qtr. I believe it chewed up half the qtr.

ACL test showed he was fine. He was pretty upset he couldn't be out there. He is a fighter!!!

And I thought Harris could steamroll people......that kid was a whole other animal. The Birds swarmed, but it prolonged the inevitable and everyone in the crowd knew it....Still a great job by Defense.
