I have no idea who calls plays for Dixie. Whoever it is deserves credit and the Dixie players executed a lot of key plays in the 4th quarter

You could say that they played different Beechwood teams.

 

And it was a different Dixie team against Beechwood compared to SK tonight. Dixie played that game without their starting middle linebackers, and I believe an outside linebacker, and it hurt them tremendously.

 

I'm really glad to see this Dixie team progressing. I glad to see Brossart have sucess. From everything I've heard, he's doing the right things and the kids like him. I'm very curious to see how this team progresses over the next 2 years.

The loss could cost SK a home playoff game. SK needs to hope for a 5-way tie at 2-2 and then I assume they would win the district based on wins by opponents they defeated. Could you imagine a 5-way tie for first???

 

Honestly if you think about it, the #3 seed vs the Lexington district isn't a horrible spot. Scott County is the best team of the eitght that will match up. I could see our #3 beating their #2 and our #3 beating our #2 which would get you to the third round against Scott County.

I was kind of bashed in the 6A thread for bringing up the 1A and 2A teams SK was playing. Congrats to Dixie!!!!!!

On to the game. Early on it could have been really bad for SK. Dixie moved the ball to the one yard line on their first drive before fumbling on 4th and goal from the one. SK fumbled on their first play and Moore ran it in from 17 with 4:50 in the first.

 

SK then fumbled the kickoff but they held Dixie and put together a nice drive capped off with a one yard Sampson score with 26.5 in the first. SK scored on their next drive on a fifteen yard pass from Kuntz to Wassom and led 15-7. Dixie threatened late in the half but Wilson picked off a Moore pass in the endzone and they went to the lockers.

 

The offensive display by SK in the second half was abysmal. They had great field position on their first two drives and didn't do squat. Meanwhile Moore was displaying great poise in the pocket, completing some very nice passes and continually moving the chains. SK had 24 plays in the second half and mustered a paltry 68 yards while DH put up over 200 yards. SK had one last shot when DH fumbled with a bit over two minutes left but after one first down they fumbled and the game was over.

 

Once again they were destroyed in TOP, DH with over a ten minute edge. The SK defense was on the field way too much and SK made way too many mistakes, turnovers and plenty of dropped passes. Hats off to Dixie, I think they have a good thing going and it all starts with a very athletic QB under center.

First of all, Congrats to Dixie on a well deserved win. Out played, out hustled and without a doubt out coached SK. Have no idea what it will take for the D staff at SK to realize a decent QB will run right on you cause its been 3 games! Kuntz could have thrown for 500 yds tonight if he had time. EVERY receiver was open deep EVERY snap!

Being an SK fan, #1ukfan needs to not post again about how awesome SK is until they actually do something. That was the most pathetic display of football I have seen from them since, well, last year. Don't mean haters get vindication, love the way he bleeds, but SK has shown it ain't much!

Awesome win for Dixie (and no I don't feel that way because of UK#1fan). Just very happy for the Dixie kids, Coach Brossart and the other Dixie coaches. After the disappointing loss to Campbell County, I'm sure some heads were down. To have a big district win over a county rival after a short week of practice should do a lot to help Dixie. Well done.

The Lexington #2 is Bryan Station. Will be a tough matchup for whomever the #3 is from the NKY district.

I actually think that these District playoff pairings will all be highly contested, outside of Scott County.

SK consistently gets less from more than any other staff in NKY

Score of this game not surprising one bit. SK has been a paper tiger all year. Look for an early exit from the tournament.
