I'm ready for next season already, just reading through the thread fires me up.

Why on earth is he playing fall ball? Get him hurt before spring training after playing a full Minor League season.

With young gun rookie Cozart establishing himself early on at short, I would also raise the question of why Hamilton played SS (and not CF) for most of this past Minor League season??

I am not sure, but the only reason I can think of is that the Reds believed that Stubbs was their longterm answer in CF.

Here's my question. I watch Stubbs and I can honestly say, balls at an angle toward the gap he's outstanding on. Other than that, he's an average CF. And that may even be generous given his speed. So, I have to wonder if Stubbs isn't gonna be packaged if the right deal comes along. Can Hamilton be worse offensively than Stubbs? I say no.

I agree.

Seeing the David Wright article in another thread made me think of other options for 3B/LF. If the Reds can't sign Ludwick and with guys like Bourne and Pagan set to get deals over $10 million a season, could the Reds turn their attention to possible free agent Mark Reynolds for 3B. (Frazier LF) Reynolds hit .221 23 and 69 for the season due to a slow start. 15 HR came after August 1st. The year before he had 37HR and 86RBI.

Reynolds' defense at 3B is truly bad. One of the reason the Orioles' promotion of Machado to play 3B was so successful was that he was a plus defender and a vast improvement over Reynolds, who moved to 1B.

Agreed, no interest in Reynolds.

#Reds, Ludwick still talking after he declines options. Jocketty says club unlikely to go more than two years.

Jocketty says club is interested in free agents Madson, Broxton, Navarro as well. "I don't that we'll sign them all." #reds

I assume he meant think not that.

I'd like to see them work something out with Madson.

I agree, could be a valuable asset to the bullpen.

Still the biggest question I think is long-term for CF.

MLB Trade Rumors.com predict the Reds will re-sign Ludwick and sign Jose Valverde. They have Broxton to Texas and Madson to Detroit.

I'll pass on Valverde.

These predictions will be about as good as me guessing the lottery numbers. They might get a few right but it's anyone's guess at this point. I don't see any reason the Reds would go after Valverde.

I agree, no way to really predict just thought it would bring some interesting conversation.

Papa Grande?? really?
