Lets put some perspective on the situation shall we. CC won by one point in the last 30 seconds in game the SK mostly controlled. CC played by far their best game of the year. They used their bye week to their advantage. SK did not play their best (one first down in the 1st half, about 25 yds rushing for the game) and is capable of playing a lot better. Dunham will not get 250 yds rushing the next time these teams play. He is a great rusher, but a lot of his success comes because of the prevalence of 3-5 defenses. sports2411 is right to call out SK's defensive coordinator for not adjusting.

 

Dunham is not a very accurate passer though, and his receivers dropped a lot of balls. A team that plays a 4-4 or 5-3 could shut this offense down. If I were defensive coordinator, I would have put 4, 5 even 6 defensive linemen on the line of scrimmage , and if I was beat in the passing game, I would live with it.

 

So CC played their best game of the season. Did you happen to watch the game? CC threw 2 pick sixes and 3 INT's the first half. You call that their best game. Man I would really hate to see them put a great game together. They spotted SK 14 points. This game should have been worse than it really was. CC controlled the line on both sides of the ball and SK is still figuring out how to stop Durham. As far as SK offense, They are slow up front, could not run the ball and if it wasn't for the QB making plays then this wouldn't have even been a game. Good luck to both teams in the future.

Did Kenton County change its open enrollment policy? I thought SK took anybody (although recognize more-like Durham--choose to go elsewhere than choose to come in).

SK scored 14 points on defense. Meaning SK's offense only scored 14 POINTS on offense! Where was the dominating offense we all heard about for the last 6 games? CC dominated both lines. If CC and SK plays again, my money is still on CC. They (CC) were also missing their starting safety and DB, this could have been a totally different game if they did play. You all could not even stop the same play 7 - 8 times in a row in the finally series.

One loss and we are already back to this tuition, enrollment and class warfare bullcrap. That was even quicker than I execptect. Last week yourself and UK were saying that you could compete with Cov Cath and Highlands. Now its about money and enrollment. What a joke!

 

Explain to me again how SK has "enrollment bourndaries"? I ask this because I do not know... Could a Ft. Mitchell/Covington/Park Hills family pay tuition to send their kids to SK? If not, my guess is that they are at capacity. Which would imply they should have a whole crop of kids to choose from. More than any other school in the area.

 

You have no clue about the communities of Ft. Thomas and Park Hills. On average, they are both middle-class communities. For every wealthy family at Cov Cath, there are many who make sacrifices in other areas to be able to afford to send their kids to Notredame and Cov Cath. Even it were the case, does money really make a difference. You seem to have some pretty nice facilities at SK. Indoor Training facility, great Football Statdium. So how would money have anything to do with it. If anything, I would argue that wealth kids are softer because things come too easy.

With open enrollment, any kid in Kenton County schools anywhere in the county can go to SK. No tuition to contend with. If SK does not have the biggest advantage in student enrollment boundaries in N. Ky., perhaps the state, please tell me who does.

This is half correct, true that it is Kenton County policy that they can accept tuition stuents, false in the fact that SK closed their in county open enrollment as well as out of district (Kenton Co) tuition enrollment for this school year back in April do to enrollment cap (to many students.) Again this was for this school year, the open enrollment process begins around January for each year.

OK you completely ignore the question, "what logical answer do you have to make anyone honestly think SK could beat Highlands". You obviously do not have any logic to support your blind observations. I knew Jefferson County had the magnet schools but I thought there were enrollment procedures and application processes that students had to go through to get into the schools. I think that dimishes the argument public schools make against St. X. and Trinity about access to students.

You are all mistaken! SK's enrollment has been closed since the beginning this year! I have one kid going to Boone to prove it! And if you don't think that private donations have nothing to do with being able to afford one assistant coach for every varsity player, then you are living in fantasy land!

 

Sk's Head Coach is coordinator as well as a position coach. Do any of those "inside the 275 loop" schools head coaches wear that many hats? I don't think so.
