Wireman
Wow...:eek::eek: The incident happened at the Red Flower Chinese Restaurant in Williamsburg. Officials say the son of the owner admitted to bringing the dead deer, which was apparently road kill, into the kitchen of the restaurant in order to clean and dress it. Watusi
According to the WYMT story on the nightly news, the owner apparently found the deer as road kill on I 75 and wanted to process it to take home to his family. So the guy throws it in his car and brings it to his restaurant. This is where the hilarity began. They put the deer in a garbage can and brought it through the dining area of the restaurant to try and get it to the kitchen so they could process it. Customers reported they dragged the can through the restaurant with tail and legs sticking out the top. Another employee was going behind them mopping up the blood trail left behind. This caused much of a reaction, some customers lost their lunch, another one or two phoned it in to police, soon the health inpsector showed up. According to the health inspector, he did not think they had any intention of serving the road kill venison to customers, and that they were honestly just using the restaurant kitchen as a place to process the meat to take home. Still, that was a bad idea of monumental proportions. The WYMT news anchor said phone calls to the business owner were received but they were unable to get comment due to a language barrier. The Professor
Other Chinese restaurants will probably be very upset with this restaurant about this news. They take a lot of grief anyway with jokes about what kind of meat is in their food. And this story will probably go national.
