Trinity 30 St. Xavier 3 (JV)

Featured Replies

10-3 at the half. Trinity comes out and dominates the 2nd half.

And my bet is 4.

Didn't X win the frosh game last year?

Well that's a tough way to open the week for the Tigers.

OUCH!

3-3 midway thru the 2nd quarter. Even game up to then after a good fake punt. Trinity quarterback throws a post pattern that is a jump ball between the X defender and the T WR. T WR shows excellent technique, positioning straightened arm between him and the defender and does not push off. He jumps for the ball and keeps the defender away from him and the ball. Touchdown Trinity. It was just textbook example of how to create space as a WR and somewhere along the way this WR got taught by a good WR coach. Kudos to Trinity's coaches.

2nd half was ST X mistake after mistake but give Trinity the nod in creating those mistakes.

Surprised by the spread of this game. 1/3 of a sweep, I hope!

Dang!

Guess my guy from St. X who was telling me the "pendulum was about to swing back" might have been a bit off.

This is not a fair game.... St.X plays sophomores in the JV games if I recall, while Trinity plays juniors, seniors, alumni, etc. I think Rob Baronis was kicking for the Rocks last night.

Some of us may have a bit of eligibility left.

Regardless ---WAY TO GO ROCKS.

1 down and 2 to go...................

BTW--heard Trinity's frosh lost to Indy Cathedral 17-15 and T's JV's beat Cathedral 20-17.

Does X still only play sophomores? I truly don't know... Either way not a good result.

I don't know for sure either. I do believe that's been a point of contention from the Xavarian faithful over the years, though...that Trinity uses Juniors on their JV team and X does not. As to the accuracy of the X JV team make up, I have no idea, other than what's been posted here in the past, nor whether it's still true.

I must admit I was wrong. I figured there would only be four posts before a Xaviarian got on here explaining how they don't play juniors and that's why the win was so lopsided. Another observation. This is the first time I remember a Trinity team at any level physically beating an X team.
