Things like this (or any other) aren't a problem caused by Facebook! Facebook USERS are the problem. How can you blame Facebook?

^Because it is easier to blame facebook than to look at the man in the mirror.

(I feel a song coming on.)

Jim never passes on an opportunity to take a shot at NKY. :D

Having lived there as long as I did, I feel like I have a legitimate insight into what goes on there. It's not like I'm sitting back opining as to what's wrong with Gary, Ind.

I can tell you what party a lot of like minded folks reside, they would like to be considered "southern democrats" (a lot of them grew up or had grandparents that grew up in the sticks)guess we can agree to disagree on that one.

So, you're saying the people you know say it's indeed a dead issue? Or that it is because there's a lot of DINOs in NoKy, vestiges of the old days when Republicans couldn't get elected because they couldn't get to the right of the Dems?

Or are you just disagreeing in general? That race is, in fact, a dead issue in the US, despite Independence's shining example of otherwise?

Tomorrow is my 20 year renunion and back then it was jocks vs hoods. We had quite the metal militia back in the late 80's/early 90's. Plenty of denim, Iron Maiden "Eddie" jackets in the hallways back then.

I agree 100% RM! I have said it in this thread, as well as many times elsewhere. People say "Oh I deleted FB due to the drama". The drama is still there, as it's not FB, it's the friends you have that create the drama. And as Hoops mentioned, people use FB as an excuse, as it's easier for them the accept.

It's so nice to know that race has been declared a "non-issue" by a lot of our hardcore conservative board members, many of whom just so happen to be from Northern Kentucky.
Race will ALWAYS be an issue to some degree or another, no matter how hard we try to squash it.

Excellent point. Racism has always existed regardless to the time period, culture, or even cotinent.

It's like hoping we find a cure for idiots, it's just not realistic even though we all wish it was.

#33 on that subdivision list is the place to be ; ) I hope they get this mess cleaned up ASAP

So why are conservatives so willing to declare that it's no longer an issue?

Every day in these forums, whenever a race issue comes up.

It's not an issue for a lot of us. Race has been an issue for as long as different races have existed, in our life time we will never see it not be an issue but that doesn't mean it's a problem that we feel is eating away at our community. Some people for whatever reasons just have hate in their heart, you can't fix that. I feel it get's better with each generation to be honest. Given that most people only see a couple of generations in to adulthood it's hard to look at the change and see how much better it's getting.

Sorry, not seeing it on the widespread level you're claiming. To some, maybe. But certainly not on the level that you can make a blanket statement about conservatives. Not unexpected though.
