September 21, 201214 yr What I posted from the other thread. Not sure what the deal is, people being stupid it sounds like. I drove by on my way back from the gym before work and passed people running up to the highway across from SK with signs reading "Stop the prejudice" Stop the fighting" "Stop Racism" and so on(not the first time I've seen this in Independence). So as I'm driving back by on my way to work the group looked thinner but they were still there with their signs, all of them looked pretty young. I'm following a Jeep with 2 people in it and the next thing I notice the passenger is holding a rebel flag out of the window yelling god knows what at the people. I was like wow someone is awfully classy in that jeep. Not sure what's going on at SK probably just the same old stuff that we dealt with when I was there a decade ago. People being ignorant, it is what it is. I really don't see how it should have too much impact on tonights game though to be honest. I will say this though from the Krogers to Walton Nicholson(2 mile stretch) I did pass about 7 police cruisers from more than just Independence and Kenton County PD.

I think "largely from rural poverty" is a bit of an overstatement though, and should not be used to try to play this off as some kind of allegation that these actions are being conducted by "poor uneducated white trash" or anything like that. September 21, 201214 yr I agree with CWB I most certainly wouldn't consider Independence largely from rural poverty. I know there are some spots where it's an issue.

Yes, I have. ...but you said "Independence", not Piner or Morning View. Piner and Morning View combined have a population of 3,000 and change. Independence has a population of nearly 25,000. The VAST majority of the students walking the halls of Simon Kenton are from Independence - and with a median family income of over $50,000, they're WELL above the poverty level.

If I were a parent of one of the kids causing all of this I would be thoroughly embarrassed, then again my kid would/will know better or they'll know my boot(I don't even wear boots).

Seriously though facebook is so much drama/complaining it's pathetic. I know lots of folks that have jumped ship from Facebook.
