He's back at Holy Cross......Tony Campbell?

Lawnboy - I'll attempt to get an update on this.

I was at a HC baseball function last Saturday for the school down at Meinken and was told by a reliable source with the school that he was not coming back. Now that being said, a lot can happen in 6 days. I don't think any of us really know "all" the circumstances surrounding this drama. All everyone is going on at this point is what they have heard from other people. It will be nice to know exactly what happened and more importantly to get the kid back in school.....somewhere.

All I can confirm at this point is that he is NOT in school at HC today.

That bus must be going around in circles?

I'm I the only one that is somewhat shocked, embarrassed and little disgusted that after attending HC for 2 years he doesn't have enough credits to be eligble at Taft?

Thanks. I bet the coaches are just scratching their heads trying to figure out what's going on.

You are spot on. (bolded)

As sad as this situation is, I did get a chuckle out this.

Crazy prediction - Campbell ends up at Newport for his senior year.

Why? - Unable to pay tuition. Can't get eligible in Cincinnati. Gets approval due to financial circumstances to play in a KY public high school. The KHSAA will allow kids with financial issues in situations like this to transfer and not sit out if they document the problem.

Tony Campbell is on Holly Cross' roster on the 2012/ 2013 KHSAA roster.

I had the same thought but I was thinking Holmes.

1. He has only been at Holy Cross for one year.

2. His academics are not an issue at Taft.

I have a different take on this, I hope he is playing somewhere in NKY as I enjoy watching the young man play the game! And I don't care where he plays to be quite honest.

I'd go with this as well. Snapp already has a few transfers coming in from what I hear. Pretty soon that entire roster will be non-Newport kids. Short Brothers transferred in last year and outside of Pearson I have no clue who attended Newport Grade School/Middle School that may be in the program.

They are saying Guilkey isnt playing and Garland is off the team from what I hear.

How does HC continue to get by with all these transfers? KHSAA is a joke, has been and will continue to be.

Not crazy at all. There was half a chance he'd land in Newport last year, so this makes sense.

I said Holmes, but only because Walter spoke of an unnamed possible transfer.

Maybe Ruthsatz can work some of that Hurley magic and get CovCath involved.
