He might not have been penalized but he'll almost certainly be fined and possibly suspended. It was a great hit but putting your helmet under his chin like that just isn't allowed any more.

September 17, 201214 yr To penalize that hit or to fine him would be a travesty. Led with his forearm, square on the numbers. The helmet is attached to his body. I guess he should have cut his knees and ended his career?

I dunno, it's close, he actually stops and plants himself for the impact, he didn't launch himself and he led with his shoulder first. Yes his helmet ended up under his chin but I don't see any way he could've made a cleaner block honestly.
September 17, 201214 yr Probably. Still loving the play, though. I think it was a great hit, and clean. The way things are now though just about any shot where you make any helmet contact at all generally ends with a fine or suspension.
