September 15, 201214 yr It isn't about the video. It's about how much they hate America. And what do we do is make apologies and send them billions of dollars. Austria is looking pretty good right now. Does Austria have football?
September 15, 201214 yr Does any one remember when we got rid of Sadam and then there was sectarian violence throughout the country..... yes these guys were dictators and certainly not the poster boys for humanitarian rights but they kept the people in check and that's something that's hard to argue against. For an Eastern Bloc representation remember the former Yugoslavia and when the Communism fell. Racial and ethnic tension was just as despotic because there was no dictatorship to keep them all in check.
September 15, 201214 yr Has anyone actually seen this movie? Watched parts of it on Youtube. It's available there. Pretty terrible in terms of production and quality. It's just a terrible film that no one would even look up if not for the controversy. (Kind of like I felt about Last Temptation of Christ.Which was a terrible film in terms of watching and would have been a box office mess if not for the controversy stirred up.)
September 15, 201214 yr Is this youtube video still up? I want to see what all of the fuss is about if it is. Here is a link to the trailer: FULL HD - Muhammad Movie Trailer - Innocence Of Muslims -
September 15, 201214 yr There is absolutely NO WAY that I will ever believe that this movie caused all of this. BGH had to have something to do with it...

(Kind of like I felt about Last Temptation of Christ.Which was a terrible film in terms of watching and would have been a box office mess if not for the controversy stirred up.) Agreed. There's just no conception of free speech over there and the extremists (who are largely uneducated) assume anything like this is a product of the US government, not some amateur, which of course means they have no idea they are the drivers of the film's "popularity." It's also not surprising that extremist groups are using the protests as cover for their own designs.

Racial and ethnic tension was just as despotic because there was no dictatorship to keep them all in check. Yes, it's sad that it requires a dictator to keep the people from an almost anarchic state but it seems that's the only way to keep things at some what reasonable state. I really don't understand it to be honest, how are we so different?
September 15, 201214 yr Ok, same question but insert youtube video in place of movie. I will stick with false pretense. The Libya operation was in retaliation of killing the #2 AQ position - a Libyan. It was basically a professional hit.

September 15, 201214 yr How Putin deals with Islamic terrorists. From 2002 Euro conference. Putin's method of dealing with Radical Islam - YouTube That's awesome. Over labor day weekend a friend and I met 2 Russian co-eds at a bar, I was more interested in the fact that they were Russian than any thing else. We started talking about Putin and I asked them what there take on him was and they said(with there awesome Russian accents) that he was a very dangerous man and scary. I just started laughing, I told them he just wants whats best for Russia and is determined to get there. They agreed and said that he is a patriot but that he's unreasonable and aggressive. That was about the extent of the conversation as I was out of beer at that time but it was certainly interesting getting a perspective from two people that were from Russia.
September 16, 201213 yr Libyan president tells NBC: 'Foreigners' involved in US Consulate attack - World News
September 16, 201213 yr I will stick with false pretense. The Libya operation was in retaliation of killing the #2 AQ position - a Libyan. It was basically a professional hit. OH, I agree with you. I was just wondering if the video really existed or if it was just a rumor and then an excuse.
September 16, 201213 yr Libyan president tells NBC: 'Foreigners' involved in US Consulate attack - World News I would really like to be able to sit in on some of the presidents security briefings over the coming weeks, I'm sure there is a lot going on that we don't(may never) know about.
September 16, 201213 yr I would really like to be able to sit in on some of the presidents security briefings over the coming weeks, I'm sure there is a lot going on that we don't(may never) know about. I just hope the president sits in on the briefings
September 17, 201213 yr I have heard at least 3 different 'stories' of the Libyan attack today. All from people who should know - American and Libyan high level officials or the Libyan president. - Caused by silly move on Youtube and spontaneous. - Was initiated in support of Egyptian protests at US Embassy. - Was the work of foreigners. After almost a week you would think the story would be well vetted and all those speaking to the press from either country would be consistent. Not the case. Also there i now a video and still photos of the event. It is easy to find. I will not post it here. Also, there is no mention in the regular media of the failed rescue mission launched from Tripoli. Two more American troops were killed in this attempt. Libya rescue squad ran into fierce, accurate ambush - Yahoo! News Note that these are additional casualties as there were no regular US military with the ambassador. They were civilian contracted security, though ex-military. From article above: " said a later assault on a supposedly safe refuge for the diplomats appeared professionally executed. .. Captain Fathi al-Obeidi, whose special operations unit was ordered by Libya's authorities to meet an eight-man force at Benghazi airport, said that after his men and the U.S. squad had found the American survivors who had evacuated the blazing consulate Of the eight American troops who had come from Tripoli, one was killed and two were wounded, Obeidi said. A Libyan deputy interior minister said a second American was also killed in the attack on the safe house. It was not clear if this was a diplomat or one of the consulate's original security detail. ... "About six mortars fell directly on the path to the villa," he said. "During this firing, one of the marines whom I had brought with me was wounded and fell to the ground. ... Having been told to expect 10 Americans and having found 37, Obeidi did not have enough vehicles to break out, despite having one heavy anti-aircraft gun mounted on a pickup truck." So it appears there was a combination Desert One/Somali Blackhawk down type scenario that was happening. With 2 troops killed. Yet no press. Nothing. If you remember from Blackhawk Down the plan was to evac via ground after repelling in via Blackhawks. The rescue mission may have been all on the ground from airport but they were stuck with not enough vehicles to evac 37 instead of 10. So other than the sketchy Reuters story what is the deal with rescue mission of 37 other Americans where 2 regular armed forces solders were apparently killed? Where?
