U.S. Embassies being attacked!

Featured Replies

We need to pull all of our people out of all of the embassies in the middle east followed by all of our soldiers. Cut off all foriegn aid ASAP.
Sadly our ego, reputation to uphold as the world's charity giver, and oil interests in the area will never allow that.

Are there any polls that ask this question? I do not find many people on here or anywhere else that support helping the area. What goes on many circles in the Middle East is barbaric and archaic. Most notably with human right's issues. I understand wanting to help on that front, but until these governments are truly serious about combating the extremists and that line of thinking, we are just peeing in to the wind. Let them destroy themselves.

Obama's Arab Spring? Will you please give it a rest? The PEOPLE of Egypt decided on their own what THEY wanted to do, they had a democratic election, one that is more fair than we have back in the US. Want to go back to slavery? Tell people and other countries what they must do? Tell people in other nations they do not have the right to vote? That they should have monarchs rule over them? Interesting! Also interesting is who funneled money into the uprisings, it wasn't Obama, I'll tell you that. So stop with the anything and everything is Obama's fault.

You also show your true colors once again, so becasue of the actions of a few you want to lump all Muslims into the same boat? EVERYONE involved said the movie was produced to incite radicals! Why did he lie to everyone in the film? He is hiding who he is, he did time in prison for producing meth as among other things, but you want to defend him by saying he was showing what everyone in Islam is about?

The folks in the Middle East are doing a great job of that all by themselves.:sssh:

Yes they are. In more ways than one.

Look, this hasn't been perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but in what universe has the current administration extended an olive branch? Those olive branches look a lot like smart bombs dropped by predator drones...

We apologized before and after the attacks.

We invite the Muslim Brotherhood to the White House.

I cant believe they burned down KFC, now its time to attack.

That "k" stand for Kentucky. Now I'm pissed.

Better KFC than Chic-fil-a

It's a SMALL number of them as well. Didn't you see the people with signs in Libya saying they are sorry, that this is not what Islam is about?

As I said, this will get worse before it gets better. Right now an American school in Tunsia in under attack and on fire. And the best thing to do is that both sides stop with the politics and work together and figure this thing out!

 The muslim extremists are not the least bit interested in any type of compromise. They will only stop at death.

I agree, the extremist won't be interested,. But did you see how young some of these protesters throwning rocks are as well? SAD!

You don't know me so don't go assuming things you know nothing about! Your comments and some others who make such BS comments are why I left my subscription expire two months ago, and the first day I decide to renew I wish I had not, and here I see someone else had just created a thread about the same thing. This site is not the way it used to be, too many people put words into others mouths and refuse to discuse, they only want to argue and attack. If you can't see what I am saying then I feel sorry for you!

I remember so many of the people on here blaming people in other situations, saying such things as, they should have known better and should not have put themselves in the situation. A few years ago people on here were blaming some teens for their own deaths for going to OTR in Cincy to buy drugs, they were killed during the drug deal and people on here were saying it was the kids own fault. Heck, just a few months ago people on this site were saying that a few black men got what they asked for by trying to enter a bar in KY that wasn't too friendly to black people, saying they shouldn't have gone in there, they knew what would happen. If someone goes into an inter-city black area of town and yells the N word and gets jumped, injuried or killed, who's at fault? It would be a stupid thing to do as you know how people will react, it's signing your own death certificate. Is it free speech or stupidity? This situation is in the same lines as what I described above, this wacko who produced the film knew what would happen, he wanted to incite the radicals, and he is doing one heck of a job isn't he? Now no one will say that they are making excusses for these acts, but we live in a different world these days, and we need to learn to live in it, just as we expect radicals to wake up and realize that they are in the 21 century!

I gave two examples earlier, the Satanic Verses and the cartoon from Denmark a few years ago, how did the radicals act? Did anyone in their right mind think they would act any other way? Why tempt these people?

Until people are in situations outside of the US you can't sit and place blame or get upset at how the US reacts. The US MUST make sure that all embassy and consulate workers are safe, as well as all of the citizens who are abroad, why say the wrong thing and put all of their lives in danger? The US is attempting to both condemn the violence as well as say they do no agree with the movie and most Americans do not either, as a way to attempt to keep the situation from getting worse, by showing that the movie was created by one man not the government or others, but also that we can't stop anyone from creating any movie about any religion. Plus, if you watch the trailer, it looks like a 5th grader made the movie, and I heard that the creator was heart-broken when no one showed up after being invited to view it.

So diplomacy is the way? No thanks. You can't compromise with those that will lie and not live up to their end of the bargain. The Ft. Hood killer was a Muslim. These folks are Muslims and sorry but to me the excuse is always "extremist Muslims". How would they react if a few "extremist Jews or Christians" went into their embassy say in Warsaw and killed 4 of their citizens.....ponder that one for a minute.

As I said, this will get worse before it gets better. Right now an American school in Tunsia in under attack and on fire. And the best thing to do is that both sides stop with the politics and work together and figure this thing out!

While your point is well intentioned, how long have we been saying this? I think most rationale people know that those out there making a fool of themselves are a small faction, but it is also clear these governments are not as committed to thwart this type of behavior as we are in America. The only solution we have not tried is simply ignoring them and severing all ties. It is cold-blooded and we are leaving millions of people to be victimized, but are they doing much to help themselves? As I said, you can't help those who do not want to be helped.
