Apparently Sudanese police fired teargas into a crowd of roughly 5,000 that were throwing stones and then attempted to storm the gates of the British and German embassies in Khartoum. This is the thing, the US aren't the only targets. These lunatics target anyone country that's not essentialy "pro islam". It's as though they think we are anti islam which is not the case.

Never was in a theater or released on DVD. Sounds almost like a false flag to provide reason. September 14, 201214 yr Almost all of these countries we are discussing have undergone revolution and are either in the tentative first steps of governance or transitioning toward it. It's hard to blame "government" in the abstract for failures in that regard when they hardly exist at this point and it's hard to blame the people for doing nothing about it when they've just revolted and are battling themselves for how to run their countries. A democratic government can be a messy thing, especially with societies where its tenets and respect for pluralism has been foreign, and that is something those societies are going to have to sort out themselves (and we are certainly encouraging their movement toward this). But to withdraw our support now is nothing but a boon to the radical Islamists and a blow to the liberals. It's messy and it won't be flawless, but if these countries transition toward democracy and pluralism over time it will be the most effective thing we can do to combat religious extremists and sow alliances with a troubled region. But, it's just not going to happen over night. You do bring up a good point, think of the frontier following the American revolution or even the Wild west during and after the civil war. At this point I don't know that there really is a good answer, certainly a lot of tough decisions to be made by our leaders in the coming weeks and months.

I vote eliminate but that's not very practical. Yea we can't sink to their extremist levels, what sad is a large # of the islamic protesters would probably be content with eliminating the western world.

The clerics will not allow anything that resembles what we would consider a 'democracy' to exist.

Exactly, so when the big guy falls, you get a group of clerics throughout the country with different people pledging allegiance to each. Then you have a group that doesn't really care and then politics sprinkled in between which amounts to what dad would refer to as a (BGP sensored version) giant cluster party.

Personally I'm offended that this administration would even put this statement out there. Obama and his crew are blaming a Youtube video, is anyone else listenting. Dictators are the only way to control these radicals. Isolate them after they gain power.
