Nothing to do with capitalism. I'm talking about the $2.5T the feds take in.

Yes, it does affect it, generally in a negative way.

I guess the question I am asking is if we weren't in a capitalist society would that money be there for them to take? What kind of economy would we have? I truly don't know that's why I ask. I am ignorant economic-wise and don't grasp the correlation between economics and politics well so I am trying to figure things out by taking baby steps I guess.

I can't answer that and neither can anyone else, at least with anything other than a guess.

My point is it doesn't matter, it's too much. The less money the feds have their hands on the better. How much money goes to the feds then back to the states? Why not just send it straight to the states. The states would probably end up with the same amount and it would save us (individuals and businesses) money. How much is lost in waste and payoffs?

Fed Government = Defense and infrastructure, period.

Where's Hillary?

I heard an interview about her this morning. The talking head said that it's not good form to have the Sec of State politicking at a convention in the eyes of the countries she is working with.

Yep. I think she's out of the country. She's a smart cookie, that one.

Is this what you think the "founding fathers" wanted? Just curious.
