Anytime I head north on I-71, I stop at LaRosas'.

The top three on this list would be my personal top three.

I know it ended up being a dump in the end, but I do miss the Ft. Wright Pizza Hut.

 

Funny that you brought that particular location up; I ate there for lunch with the guys in my wedding party the day I got married. If I remember right, that restaurant closed a year or two later.

As of now, my favorite in the area is Jets. As far as specialty pizzas go, Toppers is pretty good if any of you have not tried them. I think the only two Toppers in the area are by NKU and on Calhoun near UC. After hearing all of the comments on here about Marcos and what I have heard about them from a few other friends, I'll have to try them out next time I go toward Taylor Mill.

This thread made me want to order pizza for the Crew at work tonight. Got Spinelli's, which turned out to be awesome because they give you a local business discount.

My take on places I've tried.

 

Still like Pizza Hut, but the places do seem run down. Still like it to go once in a while, but it has lost some quality. They used to have a Taco (Mexican) pizza that they'd even serve with a "hot" taco sauce. It was great, wish they'd bring it back.

 

Godfather's never really caught on in the Cincy area, but I liked their pie.

 

Whoever held the Gatti's franchise in NKY and let it slip away blew a great thing. The location off of Buttermilk was awesome. Best Veggie samplier pie ever.

 

Cassano's is really good if you are ever in the Dayton area. They salt the crust, so it may not be for everyone, but I really like it.

 

Donato's is pretty darn good, but their sauce is nothing special. Also, they seem a bit expensive.

 

LaRosa's is still my go to for pizza. Love their sauce and always plenty of cheese.

 

I don't care for Papa John's, Snappy's, or Domino's. Just too greasy for me. And I don't care for the crust of any.

 

I haven't tried Marco's or Jet's, as I thought they were just cheap knock off joints. Maybe I am being a pizza snob. Should likely give them a try.

 

Some of the best pizza I've ever had really came from the Uno's and ZZ's pizza places up in Clifton. Both are long gone now, but Uno's still has a nice deep dish in their locations.

La Rosas pepperoni is the Caddilac of all pizza IMO.

 

If you are in NKY I highly recommend Strong's Brickoven Pizza down by the Levee next to Atlas Cleaners. Family run business with many specialty pizzas.

 

Dominos and Papa John's I like to refer to as Poverty Pie. Too greasy and doughy imo and perfect for folks who like $5 pizzas.

If I had to choose one from top 5 I would go with Papa Johns, really like their Buffalo Chicken Pizza. With that said my #1 pick is always going to be Larosas's.

 

I love me some Donatos. But I really enjoy LaRosa's as well...extra sauce.

I had them a few weeks ago, just a traditional pepperoni and honestly wasn't impressed. Their crust was good, but I felt like they maybe used half a scoup of sauce. Wasn't a big fan and not sure I'd try them again. For the extra money it cost to buy a pie here, I'd rather go elsewhere.

 

I've heard the Newport Pizza Co. has an amazing BBQ Chicken pizza, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

Pizza Hut stuff crust was my favorite pizza of all time. I also loved the chicken something from Donatos. I now have to eat a strict gluten free diet so when I am wanting pizza I hit Mellow Mushroom in Wilder. They have a few pretty tasty gluten free pies but they cost about 30 bucks for what amounts to a medium.....

 

For what it's worth, I'm pretty positive Domino's offers a gluten free pizza these days as well.

Which only matters if you are allergic to gluten. There are no health benefits from that.

The 4 cheese is really good with the Ricotta on top. Pepperoni I never order anywhere but LaRosas. I just cant compare it.
