I think they are getting Mesoraco some playing time. He is hitting .210 on the year. He is 5 for his last 31. He has looked shaky behind the plate at times IMO. Dude needs to get it together.

 

Was told that they are calling pitches from the dug out when he calls, he struggles with calling games. He is struggling at the plate but I think when he catches our pitchers struggle, there is tons of confusion on what to throw. I might not of played in the majors so sorry for that comment I guess, just got mad, however some kill me on here about the Reds, be happy that they are playing well.

It makes perfect sense. You playing low level baseball for little to no money does not make your opinion any more valid than anyone else. Hell the guy deciding to play them should be your hero given the time he has been paid at the highest level of the game...

So, in other words, they're going to roll with Hanigan and the catcher who can't catch in the most important games of the year....That's smart.

 

Unless I'm totally not understanding the rule I think he could replace Madsen or Masset or anyone currently on the DL and be on the playoff roster. I'm guessing the Reds had this figured out.

Looking at the numbers the Reds don't have a chance against Hamels. Oh but wait the numbers don't really mean anything do they unless you're Dusty you lives and dies by them. Good thing Joey is still on the DL he would have to sit tonight with his 2 for 14 against Hamels.
