August 23, 201214 yr Cards beat the Astros 4-2. Cards are now in 2nd place, 8 GB the Reds, and 1/2 game ahead of the Pirates.
August 23, 201214 yr Dusty continues to push all the right buttons. I must admit though I was a little surprised he didn't substitute Hesiey for Ludwick last night in the bottom of the 9th. When that ball first came of the bat of Howard last night I thought for sure it was in the gap.
August 23, 201214 yr Seems to me Bronson should start in the playoffs before Homer... Don't think anybody has argued that.
August 23, 201214 yr I am all of baseball? Thought I was all of basketball recruiting... In your mind you're all of everything aren't you?
August 23, 201214 yr Should be interesting to see Dusty's lineup today with Hamels on the mound....Will Bruce be out there? Will Rolen get his normal "get away day" off day? Will Hanigan be behind the plate today, for his 3rd straight, with a 4th straight day on tap with Latos going tomorrow?
August 23, 201214 yr In your mind you're all of everything aren't you? Nope. You looking in the mirror again??? :idunno:
August 23, 201214 yr Didn't you hear he is out for the year? Just kidding. The least funny joke, EVER!

August 23, 201214 yr I didn't pay attention to when Meso's suspension started. Is that over? Yes, he's able to play again starting tonight.
August 23, 201214 yr Author Yes, he's able to play again starting tonight. They could keep Navarro an extra day and let him start (doubtful) but I think they want that extra bullpen arm back.
August 23, 201214 yr The reason you only let Arroyo allow 1 baserunner / run is to insure he cannot lose the game and can only get the W. Worked hard for 8 innings and had a low pitch count. Cannot allow that to be turned into an L. If Chapman blows it, so be it, but his record so far has been pretty good. Also, although Chapman is a BETTER option, by letting Arroyo try to finish, you at least introduce the POSSIBILITY that Chapman doesn't have to work. Now that he did pitch, is he available tonight? I would guess yes based on the Cubs series and low pitch counts yesterday and the day before.
