If you had to guess (key word guess) do you think MJ helps out people "back home?"

 

I honestly have no idea. I really don't know enough about Jordan's past. Was he raised in poverty? It seems to me reading this story that he holds a grudge against his former coach. Is there more to the story?

I would think a SI writer could afford more than that. Maybe he has, but I don't see the point in calling out Jordan. I'm not a Jordan fan so I'm not trying to defend him. I think it's sad he's chosen to not help his former coach for whatever reason, but I think the SI writer should spend his time and energy on ways to help his friend instead of writing articles saying "look what I've done." I think it's obvious by now Jordan isn't going to do anything.

 

We do live in an age where the media holds our superstars accountable for everything. I'm glad to see MJ's media pass has finally expired. Been too long he's gotten a pass.

Good question. I'm not sure. That's pretty cold to invite the man to Chicago to have the crowd boo him. I don't know how I would have handled that. That's a big time grudge.

I feel like any normal human in MJ's situation would be glad to throw this guy a bone. Even just a pair of shoes. Maybe MJ really had no idea but I find that hard to believe. He has publicly make jokes at this guys expense in the last few years. MJ is a real piece of work. I always kind of ignored the jerk attitude MJ displayed but after his HOF speech I was pretty much disgusted. The ball is in his court now. I doubt anything comes from this.

MJ's true character comes shining to the surface. Again. He's such a punk for someone so revered. Has there ever been a bigger punk of a superstar in the history of our world?

I guess I just have a special place in my heart for my former coaches. Those guys had a HUGE part of making me who I am today. If I ever "made it", they'd be some of the first people I'd want to take care of. Of course, knowing most of them, they wouldn't accept. If any were in this bad of shape, they'd most certainly receive some type of help. Hell, even if that's just a few visits.

OJ killed someone so that's fair but Kobe just because you don't like how arrogant he is? Plenty of nice stories about Kobe and things he has done off the court to help others.

Didn't realize that MJ personally invited his former coach to Chicago to embarrass him like that. That certainly sheds a new light on things, and certainly tells me he holds a huge grudge against this guy. Like I said it's certainly a sad story. I would like to think if I had the money that MJ has that I would help as many people as I possibly could, and that would certainly include some of my former coaches. MJ may never answer to why he hasn't helped this guy out on his time here on earth, but I'm certain he will answer to that some day.

I did read the article, but I obviously missed where he personally invited his coach to Chicago to be ridiculed. Trying to read, and work at the same time doesn't make for good reading.

I don't think it would be asking a lot for him to help someone who is less fortunate and down on their luck who actually played a part in making him the man he is today. I'm not saying save the world but he pretty much clowned his old coach publicly on multiple occasions for the sake of clowning him. Now at a time when his old coach obviously needs someone in his life to at least throw him a bone the person from his past perfectly suited to throw that bone ignores him? Just seems kind of cold to me. Would MJ really be put out if he just got the man some shoes? And that man probably still loves MJ to death despite MJ's repeated attempts to humiliate him. Well, MJ did rock a Hitler mustache publicly....so there you have it.

 

MJ's Hitler mustache still amazes me everytime I see it.
