Biggest Bust/Worst 1st round fantasy pick you've ever make...

Featured Replies

After see the Worst 1st round fantasy pick I thought I’d throw this one out.

In 1987 RB Charles White for the Los Angeles Rams had 1374 yards and 11 TD’s in 15 games. In 1988 I drafted him early in the 1st round (maybe 1st), and he puts up 323 yards and 0 TDs in 12 games.

At that time fantasy football was TD only, you didn’t get yardage points, so I got zero points from my first round pick.

Last year I had the #2 pick in my big money league. The draft was during the period that Chris Johnson was holding out and threatening to not play all season and Arian Foster had just reaggrevated his hamstring injury. AP went #1, so I went with the reliable Jamaal Charles....:ohbrother:

Holy crap how long have you been playing fantasy football?

I took Ryan Torain pretty early last year and he didn't do anything for me.

I started playing in 1987
I started playing in 1987

That is impressive.

I took Frank Gore once with the 4th pick. Probably 5 years ago or so. I have usually had decent luck with my first round picks.

Two team keeper league. My first pick was JJ Arrington. Tell me how that panned out.

The good old days of FF, watching TNT Sunday night and trying to guage your score when they showed highlights. Then opening the Monday paper and your legal pad while calculating scores. I started in 1989 and our first league using the web was 2001. CBS now $160 was free back then, I guess they are doing OK these days.

I remember those days well. Thought I was in heaven when I found FFLM software around 1999 and used it until they phased in out and into MFL that we use now.

Steve Slaton about 3 years ago at #6 overall. Absolute bust.

In 1991 Gerald Riggs had virtually every goal line carry for the Redskins. The Skins won the Superbowl that year and were projected to repeat. They had the Hogs and were a run 1st and run 2nd oriented offense.

I was in a league that had a point system heavily weighted toward rushing touchdowns. I took Riggs with the second overall pick in the 92 draft.

He had already been cut. Never played another down.

Tom Brady the year he got hurt. Second Overall.

My league started in 98 and we uses FFLM, as the commish, I had to down load the stats the email it to all the coaches... lol Was so glad that it moved forward to MFL.

2008, Tom Brady #5... You know the rest.

In 2005, I had the second pick in a fantasy football league. The first pick was Peyton Manning. With the second pick, I took Priest Holmes. The third pick was Shaun Alexander.

Yeah, I outsmarted myself on that one.

Larry Johnson with the 4th pick in 2007. He was AWFUL for four of the first five games, then put together three games in a row that he was actually worth that pick - and then he got hurt and never played again. That was my second year of fantasy football and my first introduction to the rule of "stay the heck away from holdouts."
