Not believing in the truth doesn't keep it from being true. I personally don't know if there is a genetic marker for homosexuality. However, if it hasn't been found that doesn't mean that it doesn't exist, regardless of what you and I believe.

Why do people elect to smoke cigarettes? They know it hurts their body and the health of those around them?

Why do people shoot up with needles? It is very dangerous. It is illegal and can result in prison time.

Why does a father molest his daughter? It hurts himself, his lovely child, will cost him his freedom, and the world will chastise him for it.

Why do I choose to eat poorly? It hurts me and the world sometimes looks down on me.

 

People make decisions that harm themselves all the time. We are people and we all make stupid lifestyle choices.

 

So, homosexuality is an addiction? People start being gay under peer pressure? They are straight, and then are magically influenced by their heterosexual peers to turn gay? Once they turn gay, they become addicted to it, like a heroine addict or a nicotine fiend? Am I getting that straight?

Did I say any of those things? You posed the question "Why would anyone elect to be gay knowing that they will be chastised?" or words to that effect. I am stating that people make decisions all the time that have destructive consequences. Why did you not answer my questions though?

 

Also, I do personally know two people that were pressured into homosexuality by both homosexuals and heterosexuals.

You're claiming God-like knowledge of a field where even experts on the cutting edge are still clueless as to how most of it works.

I spent a year between undergrad and professional school studying genetics. Had enough hours, dissertation, etc. for masters. Didn't ever apply for the degree once I changed direction and got a doctorate. What I'm saying is this, this heredity stuff ain't my first county fair. Not a geneticist. However, there are many out there with degrees in genetics if their university offers it. Back in the day, it was called an emphasis.
