Does the article say he shot himself point-blank? I don't feel like reading it.

Didn't say.

Due to the family feeling they are not getting enough info they have hired an attorney from the Johnny Cochran firm.

Didn't say.

So, technically, he didn't have to move his head to the gun or vice-versa. He just needed to point the gun.

Odd story.

Odd story.

That would require great dexterity and great aim.

I'm struggling with it.

Not really. I'm in my 30s with fairly broad shoulders and not the most flexible person. I can tilt my head all the way to my right and with my hands behind my back, I could bring my hands far enough out that I think it's very possible.

As for " great aim". The bullet would only have to travel 18" at most. All he'd had to do is point it in the right direction and it will make contact.

I just hope that IA gets to the bottom of it and releases the video after their investigation that either shows foul play or suicide.

A lot of "if."

If the gun is easily accessible. If I can turn it after I get it out. If I'm able to finagle it to hit my head.

Science will tell us what angle. It will also tell us if residue is found on the victim's hand.

This autopsy is going to be heavily scrutinized.

Absolutely Clyde! I'll say it's more likely to be suicide than some coPs shootIng him cuffed in there car with a camera running...

One observation...

I read that the mother says her son was not suicidal and that he called his girlfriend during the stop and told her he would call her from jail. If the story given by the police is true, it's possible he didn't mean to shoot himself. He might have been trying to ditch the gun since it was stolen...

Weird story regardless. Will be interesting to see the autopsy results.

This has been in the back of my mind too hb20. It would be an incredible accident but sometimes truth is stranger than fiction

Occam's Razor. He was shot at close range by someone who was not him. Incidentally, the incidence of people committing suicide by putting a gun to their temple is less than 1%.

Love the Occam's Razor reference. :thumb:

Which means the odds of this guy going through all the trouble to do so, and actually succeeding, astronomically against.

I can find the "he was trying to ditch the stolen gun" scenario infinitely more plausible, but even that seems to be a big longshot.

I can buy the "he was trying to ditch the stolen gun" scenario infinitely more plausible, but even that seems to be a big longshot.

Small guns aren't all that hard to hide and moving while in handcuffs, while difficult and painful, is not impossible. It's an odd incident, that's the only thing I'm sure of though.

Glad to have you back.
