July 20, 201214 yr Seems like it all happened pretty fast, could see the gas masks as being something that gets put in every patrol car now though. May have already had one, but might not have known he needed it till he was inside. Who knows.

The guy had no prior run ins with the law so the guns could have all been purchased fairly easily. At one point they said he was wearing a bullet proof or tactical vest, still not sure if that's been confirmed, also the tear gas and gas mask seems like those would likely raise a few more flags. All going to come down to how long ago he started planning this.

Yea the guy is apparently highly intelligent and they found other homemade stuff at his house so I'm sure he could figure out how to make something similar to tear gas.

They've also said he had a masters and still couldn't find a job, almost starting to sound like a freaking idiot that hated his life and career failures so much that he wanted everyone else to hurt the same way he did. SICK I don't know. I don't think you can make the assumption that it was spur of the moment just because he bought the vests, knife etc on the 2nd. He had to purchase the guns, ammo, and make the explosives at his house. I think there was definitely some planning.

While there's a whole lot about this I don't understand I really am at a loss as to why he targeted all those innocent people but then warned the police that his residence was booby trapped. CNN speculated that he wanted them to go in and blow themselves up. He apparently left loud music playing and left the door unlocked.

Planning sure but it wasn't something that was done a year in advance that's what I was inferring. I wonder what caused him to think he was the Joker, how do people get that bad off.
