July 16, 201214 yr I wanted to get in here before the thread closed...great series and great game last night. Loving seeing so many people at the ball park. We went to the game last night and was very happy to see the sweep. I am now 6-2 on the year at GABP.

I don't believe for one second the Reds swept this series because they wanted it more. It is rare in games of any importance that one team wins because they wanted it more. The second most overrated statement that is used constantly - "they were flat". Yeah, right. They were flat because the other team is better and kicked their butt. Being flat is a total excuse for not being good enough. Maybe you were being sarcastic in your comment, but I wanted to make those comments anyway.

If you think any individual player and a team can't be what many refer to as flat then you never played competitive sports and had a time when mentally you just did NOT have it all together.

While I really don't know what "wanted it more" truly means, I couldn't possibly disagree more with the "flat" comment. Perhaps more in basketball than any other sport, teams come out "flat" and get behind early without any competitive fire. I fully believe in flat. Maybe not as much in professional sports, but in HS sports it happens all the time.

Flatness...going through the motions...etc.
