June 27, 201214 yr It worked out well for AU and Cam Newton (see U of Florida experience). Right, but he was the exception and not the rule. How many times can you catch lightning in a bottle? Also, Newton (and I have no idea how he was in high school and college) was sooo composed and unfazed no matter what was going on on the field or off of it. Right now, Zeke is a million miles from composed.
June 27, 201214 yr With Cam he got kicked out of Florida for taking part in stealing laptops. The year at Blinn seemed to make him a better person off the field before heading to Auburn. Maybe a year or two at a small school can help Pike see how great he could of had it and he will get his act together, then maybe get a chance at a large D1 school. A lot of Maybes here but I think its the only chance he has now...
June 27, 201214 yr Is there an Amish Football program that needs a QB out there? Building barns in his free time may take the energy out of him for the other stuff. The "Amish Pies" up here in Auburndale WI, may have a recruiting need. I can check while up on business.
June 28, 201214 yr From what I know of Zeke, as an opposing coach, Zeke has always been very respectful to my players and myself. I hope he makes the right decisions in the future and rights the ship. I do not want to see him fail.

Unless he's done something tremendously wrong to a poster or a poster's child here (I'm not saying that he has), then everyone should be rooting for him to figure it out. The better kids from Kentucky do at big schools, the better it is for future players coming up.

He's been recognized many times by the football program for the highest test scores and grades from football players in various classes and was working on a fund raiser for the victims families of the Auburn football player deaths and gun awareness events. One of the players that were killed lived across the hall from Zeke this past semester and found out a family member has a serious illness in the past 2 weeks. The past 2 weeks have been emotionally tough leading into the drinks. Of course no excuse to do something stupid like drinking. He'll regroup with family and team support and bounce back at Auburn when 2 a days begin.

Supposedly there are rumors going around on some Auburn/Alabama message boards that a police officer was going to let Zeke go but he said something that led to the arrest. Also, how do you respond to the fact that he was supposedly near being academically ineligible and not showing up for class?

I'm just saying what the poster said was in contradiction to what plantman said and I think I would bring it up as it appears to be a small disagreement about Zeke's time at Auburn thus far.

FWIW my info came from 2 former classmates at Dixie of Zeke's that talk to him on a very regular basis.

The whole point of the post was to challenge what Cherry Picker said because what you had said was in direct contradiction. Wasn't trying to say either one was right but was trying to bring up there was an obvious disagreement in terms of how Zeke was doing academically at Auburn... FWIW, I know many football athletes at Kentucky would occasionally grace us with their presence once in awhile. The most recent Mike Hartline was one of them. As long as you keep your grades up, I don't think its a big deal if you don't show up for class unless attendance is required for some reason.
