And by September will this be an issue. And I agree....if I am Romney my video would be up right now.

Will be forgotten by September, IMO. Of course, I seldom make accurate predictions.

I'll answer your question with a question.

People who don't like President Obama(shout out to Clizzy) like Fox News, Republicans, Tea Partiers, Birthers, etc have tried so many things to discredit President Obama(Clizzy) while in office, why should the average Joe Schmo with a vote think this holds any more merit than any other claim made against President Obama?

I asked a Republican friend of mine and his opinion was the general public has no clue about this and probably won't care. He said some Democrats may bail on President Obama because of it but after a few resignations it will fade away into oblivion. His text to me read, "your boy is as crooked as the rest.". Okay. I know this. Recognize it. The general public.....will it affect them? I am thinking no because those who are for President Obama are going to say this is another wild goose chase just like his birth certificate and mountainref's other 2,436 threads. :D

Am I wrong?

I'm going to answer your question with a question with a question.

Obama famously ran on a promise of being the most transparent president ever. Every bill would be posted online for x number of days before it was voted on, no lobbyists in his administration, he was going to transcend partisan politics, etc. I don't think he has lived up to any of that. Now I will freely admit that Obama could cure all forms of cancer and I would only grudgingly give him credit however I really get the feeling that you and others like you really believed his bill of goods. Do his continued actions that fly in the face of promises he made while candidate Obama do anything to change your opinion of him?

I believed in him and I still do. Despite this Fast and Furious situation I still believe he can do good things if given four more years. No president is or has ever been squeaky clean. While most Obama supporters such as myself would have loved for him to do so it's obvious he has failed in that department my faith in him to be a successful President has not wavered. Is this disappointing? Absolutely. It isn't the first time he has disappointed me. It doesn't change my feelings about him. If I changed my allegiances based on disappointments I'd be a pretty lonely fellow right now. Probably be just me and my twitter crew.

What Obama has going for him on this issue is that there is a laundry list of examples where other Presidents have backtracked. It's not like he's breaking new ground with this.

What he has going against him is that he built his entire 2008 campaign around changing that duplicity.

I would say it is indefensible.

I guess I'm just surprised that presidents continue to make the same mistakes as their predecessors. They're smart, so why don't they learn? It's the coverup or the appearance of a coverup that usually gets a president in trouble. Address the problem directly and cut loose the people that need to be gone. The american public has short memories unless you give them a reason to remember something.

Just like Ernie Fletcher did here and he was soundly pilloried by Democrats for not governing as he had promised. He was also defeated in his re-election bid. I really hope that happens nationally. If Obama is re-elected and he becomes a 4 year lame duck I am honestly fearful of the kind of fiats he will use to achieve his vision of America.

Agreed. It's this kind of stuff that breeds cynicism.

So does this blow a hole in the Obama gun control theory?

What leads you to believe he can do "good things" in the next four years? What has he done in the last 3 1/2 years that has been good?

I've answered this question too many times and from what I've gathered as a Democrat on this board is that what I think he has done good in his 3 1/2 years doesn't qualify for those who don't like him and are counting down the days until he is out of office. We can't even come to a consensus that killing Usama bin Laden was a good thing so with all due respect I respectfully decline to participate in the debate on what good President Obama has done. I'll see if I can find an old post on the search engine. I'm fatigued on the 'what good has President Obama done' argument. He's done enough for me.

My questions is - What is his true vision of America.

PP92, what do you mean?

What do I mean about what?
