Is respect earned or just given? The President has not done anything to earn my respect except for being a good dad, terrible leader IMO and taking us down a bad road.

Even if your vote wasn't for him? His support for abortion, gay marriage and etc local issues like Trayvon Martin, the mistake he made on the cop on the beer sit down, he lost what little respect I had for him.

So if you didn't vote for him, neither he nor the Office he holds deserves respect.

 

Sorry, I'm not buying. No matter who the President is, he deserves to be treated with respect.

You do not have to like him, vote for him, or respect his views. You DO have to respect the office and that he is the leader of the country and act accordingly unlike the ******* who interrupted him.

I probably didn't .maybe because I had less time on my hands then and there wasn't as many threads Bush bashing on here then . Any person that is elected President deserves our respect .

Yes to most, but I was taught to not interrupt anyone by my parents, I would go to war for the U.S. not Obama.

 

I may call him Mr. President, or Mr. Obama, never call him Barack

Though not on BGP, I am guilty of this in my past. It is something I regret and vow to never do again. The office of the president is owed respect at all times.
