Is that Spring Classic at Midwest Hoops?

yes

NKY Rebels (14U) are heading to Bloomington for the Adidas May Classic.

The U14 NKY Buldlogs will be in Florence for the Spring Classic and the U15 team will be in Mason at C4S.

Who else besides the NKY Strom are playing in the tourney at NKU/Florence this weekend?

Yes I will be at Midwest.

The BA Hoyas had some players show up just before the tip and they fell behind 11-0 but still managed to rip the Indy EBC Red team 72-52. Bullitt East stars Rusty Troutman and Trey Rakes had solid games, while Trinity’s Sam Strothman really showed flashes and Butler’s Demetrius McReynolds has improved.[/h]

• The Kentucky Elite 17s team dropped a close 76-74 decision in overtime to Indiana Dawgs. St. Xavier center Brock Kiesler and Scott County guard Quin Richardson had solid games, while Collins guard Dez Marshall led the way with 26 points. Marshall just keeps getting better and better every time I watch him play.

• Also watched the Louisville Storm play in the final game of the night, losing 84-71 to Kings Court. Logan O’Bryan of Daviess County led the way with 22 points for the Storm, while Central’s Dominique Chandler added 19. O’Bryan made the Junior All-Star team last week and he showed me why. He’s a solid player.

Yes I will be at Midwest.

I'd love to meet you Manny, I just left, maybe we can meet tomorrow. I'll be at the table keeping score at the Gators game at 4:00. Throw something at me, I'd love to meet you.

adidas May Classic – day two

• Watched the Louisville Storm win a close game with Central’s Dominique Chandler hitting two free throws with 9.8 seconds left to seal it. Christian Academy’s Logan Wade had a solid tournament.

• It was also another game of watching the Louisville Storm and another game of watching Daviess County junior Logan O’Bryan playing a solid role.

• Louisville Magic lost the first game of the tournament to St. Louis Gateway with 40 fouls called against the Magic and 18 against Gateway. Ballard’s Quentin Snider led the Magic with 11 points, while Lafayette’s Jackson Davis had a solid game.

• The Magic rallied later in the day with a 77-56 win over the Wisconsin Shooters. Henry Clay’s Christian Cunningham had 16 points, while Dixie Heights’ Brandon Hatton added 14. Trinity’s Craig Owens, Snider and Davis added 10 apiece.

• Saw the BA Hoyas in the morning game and once again Bullitt East junior Rusty Troutman was solid and just makes buckets. One kid who doesn’t get a lot of attention but is a really nice player and solid athlete is Trinity’s Sam Strothman.

• Saw The Ville play two games on Saturday and while they only had seven players it’s not surprising those guys are winning a lot this spring. Trinity’s Darryl Hicks looks to be stronger and is taking the ball to the basket, while Madison Central’s Dominique Hawkins can score and North Oldham’s David Levitch hit a bunch of buckets.

We were at NKU for all of Sunday for bracket play. We lost to Charlotte Court in the finals by 8.

Just heard crons u16 finished 2nd in the Dayton metro this weekend They were combined with the u17 division. Great job coach Blevins.

Will the Crons combine 16 u and 17 u this weekend in the state AAU in Lexington, or have separate teams?

Im guessing Separate teams. Is it a combo U16-U17 in Lex or does each age group compete in their own division?

Rebels 14 U had a very strong showing at the Adidas May Classis. They made it to the Final 4 of the the Gold division before getting beaten by Indy Elite in OT.

Thanks. Those kids have played with a few different teams over the years, most recently the NKY Celtics. What happened to the rest of the kids on that team? Does anyone know if the NKY Legends have been playing any this spring in 14 and under?
