Spiece Gators and Charlotte Court will be in St. Louis at the Battle for the Arch tournament.

Really liked what I saw from Darryl Hicks this weekend. He was finally back in attack mode and not settling for standing on the perimeter and hoisting jumpers. Was great to see him getting back to what made him a big time prospect at a young age...

From J Demling

Here are a few hoops nuggets to start the week:• The second and final evaluation weekend of the spring for college coaches is complete. You will see schools target the guys they really want in the next week or so, send out more offers and young guys will begin to gain interest.

• Trinity High School freshman Raymond Spalding, a 6-foot-9 post player, had a big weekend for the Tennessee Travelers at the Boo Williams Invitational. Spalding is expected to garner a lot of new Division I attention in the coming weeks.

• Indiana Elite/Team Indiana beat The Ville 2015 in the championship game of the 15s at the adidas Spring Classic in Indianapolis. East Chicago Central guard Hyron Edwards scored 18 points in the win and already has offers from Indiana and Purdue and is expected to add a few more this week.

• Indiana commitment Luke Fischer only scored six points but his Wisconsin Swing team won a battle of future IU players, beating Eric Gordon All-Stars and IU commit Devin Davis 70-67 in the 17s semifinals at Indy. Eric Gordon was without IU commitment Collin Hartman, who was out after a concussion. The Swing went on to win the 17s title at the event.

• Spiece Indy Ice won the 16s in Indianapolis with Brebeuf guard P.J. Thompson scoring 35 points in the title game to lead the way.

• The Indianapolis Star reported Indianapolis North Central junior guard John Murray is getting interest from Eastern Kentucky and Northern Kentucky. Murry is expected to make a visit to EKU in June.

• CIA Bounce is the only team undefeated – at 9-0 – after two weekends of the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League.

• The Hoop Dreams team led by Johnson Central’s Shane Hall finished 5-1 and lost to Dayton Nets in the Gold Bracket of the Black division of 16s at the King James Shooting Stars Classic in Akron, Ohio.

• Spiece Kentucky Gators won their first four games of the Battle for the Arch in St. Louis over the weekend.

• The Eric Gordon Central Stars 15s won its division of the Bob Gibbons Tournament in Atlanta.

Was talking to a coach about Spalding this weekend. I know Vandy and UC were both impressed with him last week at open gym...

Wouldnt be surprised to see Cincinnatti start recruiting Shane Hal. Believe it was one of their assitant coaches at one of the games and he seemed very impressed with Shane Halls athleticism.

UC is already involved and Hall was at a game this year for a visit...

Perhaps it was the first time that specific assistant had seen him. Anyways good luck to Shane, keep up the hard work.

Pretty sure it was former Male and Murray State star Chris Shumate who has been the guy recruiting Hall for a while...

The Lexington Colonels, an AAU team made up of current freshmen the Lexington area, picked up some hardware this weekend at the King James Shooting Stars Classic tournament in Akron, Ohio. The team, which includes the son of University of Kentucky coach John Calipari – Brad - went 6-0 and won the freshman gold division #2 title.
