A lot of the people nominated and selected most people have never heard of. I did not know if there is a requirement such as, "Only 1 coach can be taken, etc..." Arvydas Sabonis got in last year.

March 30, 201214 yr If said candidate committed NCAA violations, you bet. Doesn't matter whether they were an assistant or not IMO. When said violations happened are also irrelevant. So, how far back do we go in someone's background? 10 years? 15? 20? Pete bet on baseball a long time ago? Should his indescretions be forgotten because time has passed? Don't confuse baseball with basketball. We'll see shortly who is correct. Looks like you are if the reports are true.

With that being said, not surprised one bit he didn't get in the HOF. He was a failure with the Celtics, not the Knicks. His accomplishments speak for themselves. The biggest reason I can see him being left off is his brashness with the media. This is their way of getting him back for at least a year.

This is their way of getting him back for at least a year. He had one season with a winning record in the NBA. His other 5 years all had sub .500 records. His two playoff appearances garnered a record of 6-7. He took the Celtics down like BCG took UK down. He has had some really nice success in college basketball, but since it's called The Basketball HOF and not the College Basketball HOF, I think the body of work is important. My view is you can't just look at part of his resume and ignore the rest. He definitely has some dark clouds on that bio. Does character count for anything? He suffers in this area as well.
