March 23, 201214 yr I havent had that much fun watching a game in a while... For some reason Michigan State didn't scare me. After they won the BE Tourney, everything else has just been icing on the cake. Outstanding run to this point for Pitino and the Cardinals. Three more!! The Spartans didn't scare me either; after seeing how they played against St. Louis last Sunday, I felt confident.
March 23, 201214 yr I can't be any more happy and feel happy that I set my expectations low before the end of the regular season. It's funny to think about how a lot of people was wondering if Coach Pitino needed to move on at times during the season, which he has obviously proven that he doesn't. As a team, they have been excellent defensively and as far as overall play is concerned, Siva and Dieng has come on very strong. Can't wait for the game Saturday against Florida or Marquette. GO CARDS!!!

The stretch where they put away Iowa State was great, but outside of that, they've been much rougher around the edges since the beginning of the SEC Tournament. On the subject of Louisville, I want to see them make the Final Four even though I think that's a dangerous proposition for UK should they make it as well. I think that's the type of game where if you could assure me that Kentucky was going to win I'd say "Sure, bring it on." But such assurances don't exist.....
March 23, 201214 yr Congrats to the Cards. I've been telling friends this for a month now, and they laugh at me, but as a Wildcat fan, I don't want Kentucky to have to play the Cardinals again. Of course I want Kentucky to keep advancing, but the Cardinals scare me. Great game by the Cards. Not looking forward to the possible rematch. They're playing good ball. I understand what you all are saying, however would you rather play Florida for a 4th times if we make the final four? I know I sure wouldn't, and would much rather play Louisville again. They both are similar, however Florida has seen us three times in the last month and a half, and would be a 4th in that time span. I much rather see a team like Louisville who has only seen UK once, and won't know everything about UK like Florida now does in games.

I'd like all of you to raise your hand who thought this current Louisville run was remotely possible a little more than two weeks ago. That's right, dig deep and be honest. Was it that 5-3 February that sold you -- y'know, the one featuring wins over world-beaters such as Rutgers, Pitt and DePaul (in OT!)? Was it the dismal offense displayed all season long, and sometimes tonight, that sold you? And if Ricky has done such a masterful job during this postseason -- and he has -- what does that say about the job he did in the regular season? It's been a great ride, and totally unexpected. I'm loving it. I still hate Pitino, and that wouldn't change with a national title.

I know for a fact that UK is on a mission and the Vandy loss cleaned the slate and was a tremendous weight lifted off this team's shoulders. They are locked in and more focused than I have seen them all year. I could careless if they play little brother or UF. They will not be denied a National Championship. Team Destiny.

I thought they would lose fairly early due to their ineptitude on offense. As it turns out, I was wrong.

The Cards have talent, and a great coach.
March 23, 201214 yr BTW, Pitino remains undefeated in the Sweet 16. Might as well just advance them automatically if they make it there. Before the tournament, Michigan St had always made the final four when they were a #1 seed and Pitino had always won in the Sweet 16 (9-0). If they met up, something had to give. I had Michigan St winning the whole deal, but since I didn't have Louisville making it out of the first round, I never took this into consideration. The one thing that bothered me about Michigan St was their inability to score at times specifically to go long stretches without scoring FGs. If they were able to get to the FT line, it's no big deal, but 12 attempts for the game is not going to cut it. Plus they had more turnovers than field goals and were uncharacteristically outrebounded by another team. Dieng blocking and altering all of those shots really did the Spartans in as they only shot 29% from the field. Edited March 23, 201214 yr by statman
March 23, 201214 yr Congrats to the Cards, we were so excited. Beat the Gators/Warriors. Glad someone else still knows Marquette's real nickname. Golden Eagles has never really sat well with me.
