Two teams that I enjoying getting to see play battled tonight and for the first time, according to the TV announcer this was the first win for Lamar(5-1) at UTEP(1-5).

Lamar led by 20 at the half and watched as UTEP cut the lead to single digits very late in the game. Lamar recovered and won by 14.

Leading Lamar was Zjori Bosha(Nome, Texas) with 18 points.Josh Nzeakor(Mesquite, TX) chipped in with 15 points.

For a slumping UTEP team, who only shot 33% from the field Trey Wade(Marietta, GA) came off of the bench to lead them in scoring with 13 points.

Following the loss, Tim Floyd retired.
