I think its laziness in doing what has been done. I think its easier for the average coach to get a kids hips down and pad level low. Just because something is easier doesn't make it better. In the grand scheme of things 3rd and 1 and goaline is a fake way to argue style because the evil "spread teams" that win usually have the line in a 3 point stance in those situations if they are running the football inside.

Which is more important to win a championship in KY hs football?

His defensive end is. Whats the difference?

2 a days are already limited by KHSAA in KY and will soon be dead altogether when Julian gets more of this data. Its a good thing. We are getting smarter about how to treat our bodies.

Tell that to Chuck Smith who plays his 6 technique on the te in a 2 point stance. Any number of odd front linebackers and even front ends do it every week very physically.

Bold truth a lot of people don't realize.

I see the discussion turning to what it takes to be a spread offense. "Gifts", "talents" , rural clientele keep you from it. I have 2 questions? A. are you speaking of a spread with a running qb or a spread with a passing qb? B. what are these gifts and talents that god has to provide and coaches just have to pray for are we talking about?

Throw to score. Run to win. There is more than one way to skin a cat and more than one way to match up with that statement. Statistical study shows that people can be too conservative and limit their own explosive plays. Statistical study shows that some people can be too aggressive and limit their own efficiency. Simple math has shown that you either need to use your qb to add to the run game(option or zone read) or he needs to be an efficient passer. Get in hand-off mode and throw 3 times a game and you play 10 on 11.

There are only 3 jobs open so I agree 100% with this statement.

I'm assuming he's saying that because its a local guy who has been a head coach and had a winning season, so kind of a known commodity.

Do we have any other top 25 team that has joined Dunbar in failing to reach the region tournament?

Being a champion takes a certain mindset. SK doesn't seem to have it. Some fans certainly don't.

I've explained to you how a 5a team in an area with multiple successful teams has beaten X a 6a contender you say can't be beaten. You have anything else, about how a 6a team who wants to win 6a will never be able to compete with T,X and Male? Its absurd just on the face of it. In other states people don't think like this, they figure out what they need to do to win. It kind of makes me sad. Maybe Ryle will get it going.

So, that's invalid. South Warren won a championship and Franklin lost in the finals the last 2 years. Come up with some better excuses.

I understand SK is a pretender to the throne in 6A, but lets keep the excuses to reality. BG has beaten X 5 of the last 6 I think. So, adapt your program, it can be done.

Doesn't Billy Hicks have state championships at 2 schools ?

That was like 7 years ago.

Coaching at Douglass with their new academy and AD wont be 100% like HS basketball.

And yet, somehow, they were able to win it this year without that type schedule.

For a 1A roster where depth is a matter of math, it is brutal.

I am going to chime in on the use of the TE at championship levels since that is where Highlands wants to go back to. Every school who won a state championship this year uses a TE out in the field. I won't even cheat and say inside the 20 or at the goal line. 6a Trinity 1 sometimes 2 5a Bowling Green 1 sometimes as a fullback 4a Johnson Central 1 many times 2 many times with a fullback 3a Belfry 1 many times 2 2a CAL 1 sometimes 2 1a Beechwood 1 sometimes 1+a fullback

Brandon Smith?

:lol2:

Where did he end up?

3rd option? Behind who?
