  1. Stealth Composite, stiff handle, was very popular on our team last year. Noticed a couple kids were driving the ball noticeably farther than they ever have.
  2. By "debt", I meant that more figuratively than literally. He left Louisville without finishing out his contract. As a Louisville fan, I took his leaving as a slight on UL and Louisville. He as much as later said that Michigan State was a dream job compared to Louisville. I liked the guy when he was our coach. I didn't like how he left. I didn't believe Michigan St. would make his resume look better.
  3. Great idea. I saw a reality show about Dick Butkus doing something like that. I only saw a a couple episodes, not sure how it turned out. But yes, I think John L. has a debt to Louisville which I think he could pay off by coaching at Shawnee for 4 or 5 years.
  4. As I understand MCL injuries, not having one myself, is that they are not all the same in terms of severity and recovery time. That being said, I'd be shocked if Duece plays. He's not been running or cutting for two weeks and I don't think he would be ready to play even if the MCL is healed.
  5. Run, For St.X in 2005, which poll and on which date do you want to know our ranking? I'll look it up for you if it's important for you to know.
  6. I see this as a close game as well. PRP's D line did an excellent job against X, especailly the first half. They were able to get pressure on Brutcher and bottle up our running attack. If Newman and Co. come out with that same intensity I can see Manual having problems moving the ball. I didn't see the first game between these two, did Manual get help from PRP turnovers in scoring 34 or did the offense do most of the damage?
  7. I agree. In additon, I would say that without a healthy Duece Finch Trinity and Manual would have to be slight favorites over X to win the title. I know this may annoy some of my X brethern. That's not to say X can't win state without a healthy Duece. It can be done, but the road will be more difficult. Any word on his recovery?
  8. Great job Pioneers!! Don't listen to the naysayers, you've taken the first step to being varsity champions. Keep up the hard work.
  9. It's been said by others, and I agree 100%, the missed FG and INT were huge momentum swings. Different outcomes on those two plays and Cov Cath could have won this game. Cov Cath's defense was very impressive, making solid tackles all night and really almost shutting down the X rushing attack. The Colonels walked off the field with class and a quiet determination for an upcoming playoff run. Good luck CCHS!
  10. How about a random draw as to who hosts. The host school then gives the gate and portion of concessions to the 3 schools that travel (what's it cost to gas up a bus?). I know it would still be a burden on the player families who travel, but they might as well get used to factoring the travel costs into the family budget for next year.
  11. I would be for it if the Metro Louisville champion would be invited. Actually, there is no formal freshmen league in Louisville. No playoffs either:confused: I think it's great that NKY has a playoff system, gives the kids some experience at what the playoffs are about. At St.X, the freshmen have been finished for a week now, while the varsity may play into December. It's like, "thanks for coming out, but please get off the field so the varsity can get ready for a state title run." That's not a criticism of X, it's just a product of the fact there is no playoffs for freshmen in Jefferson County. Based on everything I've heard and read on BGP this year, I think the 4 best freshman teams to invite to a state playoff this year would be Simon Kenton, Boyle County (who may have went undefeated, including a victory over Trinity), St.X (only loss to Moeller, victories over Trinity, Manual, Male and Lex Cath) and Lex Cath (who seemed to improve after an early loss to X, beating Trinity and also defeating either Elder or Colerain in a close game.
  12. Henderson. I have been impressed with their fans everytime they've come to Louisville. I've noticed they also support their youth baseball teams equally well when they've come for the Cal Ripken State. Not just parents, but grandparents, aunts and uncles, friends etc.. Seems the whole community gets behind their youth sports.
  13. Sounds like a little football factory. Do they have any D1 talent?
  14. Then start yet another public/private boundary thread and explain how absurd it is for a Catholic grade school graduate who lives 15 minutes from St.X to attend the Catholic high school of his choosing. But don't do it here and don't do it by making a joke about an injured kid.
  15. I've tried that number several times, some girl named "Jenny" keeps answering.:jump:
  16. Did Smallwood play for the Bluegrass Baseball Club a couple years ago? They had a really tough tall lefty as well.
  17. Define "cheating". If you play sophmores because A. your freshman are struggling and need help, it's not cheating. Or B. you're playing a really good team and need some sophmore help, it's not cheating. Or C. you have some injuries and don't think your freshman backups are worthy or capable of playing, it's not cheating. At least that's what I've heard.
  18. I would put Trevor Gott of Tates Creek and Cole Sturgeon of O-Cath at the head of this class.
  19. Male 28 Manual 14 Why? Both teams have comparable talent, though I believe Male has better overall quality and depth. I see Male's D frustrating Manual and forcing turnorvers by way of the INT.
  20. LOL...CR, you must be looking for some bulletin board material. IMHO, Manual is good, no where near as good as Trinity. Manual's D is solid but not impenetrable. Manual's O is good, but anemic and predictable at times. Impact players for Manual-- Cosby, Smith, Ulinski and Harness. Impact players for T--Stein, Dutton, Dutton, Phillips, Robey, Whiting, Weitlauf. T has more studs, more depth, and much better coaching. Manual played X close, so what. We left points on the field and gave them one of their scores with a bad snap on a punt. I attend a lot of X games and I've not met those X supporters who are more concerned with Manual than Trintiy. So put that on your bulletin board!
